    Morning ladies

Welcome first to thelittlestranger and no not annoying at all. It is hard to know where to start but thats exactly where the list comes in. If you start with say the kitchen and its wipe the worksurfaces, it may well mean you have to clear them first but when you dont take stuff and put it away dont just move everything into a heap as it will still need sorting. Next time it comes up it will take only 5 minutes to do rather than the hour it may have taken first time round. You cant get it all done in a day!

Jo - I can see what you mean about the need to declutter first, but those pictures arent bad, my bedroom is far worse than that for boxes, as is our 'office' and I have been 'tackling' both for years :o. If you cannot study as you dont like the clutter (which I can understand from the other thread) then clearing it will clear your mind enabling you to study freely.

skintbreeder 5 - that was some list, do you want to come and start on mine.

Ok so what have I done so far.

managed to steer clear of the big white telephone this moring so thats good.
emptied the dishwasher - need to reload breakfast things (and why is DH so messy )
    rounded up all the washing
Sorted out 2 weeks worth of washing that had been 'dumped' in the spare room - I was sick of everyone saying where's my especially as it was DH that had done it all.

Anyway now being nagged as he has made coffee

    TTFN
Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!

Jo.. if my hallway looked that tidy I'd be pleased! I have pushchairs and shoe racks rather than bikes but it is a tip.. I have 2 boxes I don't even remember what is in them and a box of next size clothes for Dot to go upstairs that has been there 2 weeks.. not to mention the 7 charity shop bags!.. I'm not sure my shame would allow me to post pics!

  • Good afternoon :D

Bubba's lunch cooking, trip to bank decluttered. Man at the bank was nice. And it is looking hopeful for a change of mortgage :) We would save ourselves about £200 per month (existing mortgage plus existing debts plus some small home improvements) and the term would not be extended (finishes in just over 8 years). there are no legal fees and a fee of just £265 (payable at the end of the mortgage). the only downside is that my score in the banks eyes is 1 (minimal risk, best you can get :A) but DH's is 9  (the highest!:eek:) However, he described this as a glitch, and may add about 2 days to the process. Not sure why it is so high. he did have some issues a few years ago, but I thought it was all sorted :(

Ok - need to feed bubba now :)

I am going to keep trying with the house, but I am going to go with Honey Bears idea off HHstudy too...

If Im on a roll at the end of HH then Ill carry on (which is likely)... but at least Ill do half an hour if nothing else! And if I can concentrate for stressing, I will be able to convince myself its only for HH

Best get ready now for Uni xx

Jo if that were my hall I'd pat myself on the back because it may be cluttered, but it's clean! And I can't really concentrate when things are cluttered either, so I completely get where you are coming from.

You'll be surprised at how much progress you make in a HHStudy. I started off thinking I had to have a minimum of two hours or it wasn't worth getting the books out and luckily realised quite quickly that meant I dreaded sitting down - big mistake. In case you're wondering whether I know what I'm talking about, I eventually managed two degrees after the A level, so I know what I'm saying works, but - and this is a big but - the clutter in my office collected and built up over a 10 year period and was only finally vanquished last week!
    Better is good enough.

    Welcome first to thelittlestranger

skintbreeder 5 - that was some list, do you want to come and start on mine.

welcome to littlestranger - as a fellow newbie, just take one day at a time and log back in to record your progress.....when you actually keep track of what you have done it does spur you on to do more - no matter how much you hate housework!

kazmeister - my whole house has been on the frog list since before I moved here 6 years ago :eek it has taken 3 years since the kids Dad left for me to realise that his rulebook/standards for housecleaning was never going to work for ME and it was time to throw his rulebook away, and more importantly it is OK for me to throw the rulebook away!

I decided this week it is MY house, so I can organise it how I want it, and have MY own housecleaning rulebook, which is the flylady way......hotspots are getting smaller as I don't have to THINK/REMEMBER where HE said things should go, as MY system is logical to ME, things seem to be finding their way to their logical homes almost by themselves!

On a bit of a time budget, as there is a little fly-baby making an appearance just after Xmas - :D, so I have to crack on with as much as I can before I get to the size of a house, so I will decline your kind offer to come and get started on yours;)

Well I have been absolutely useless at keeping up with the thread and the flying this week :o

I have gotten really on top of selling things tho, which has been a major frog issue for the past few months. So I am now really getting going with selling and decluttering and that in itself is making the house a whole lot nice place to be in. And I am on top of all the washing and ironing and its staying that way. Usually when I do have a big effort on that I slip backwards in the following couple of weeks - but so far so good :D

I've made about £150 from selling since I pulled my finger out so am really pleased with my efforts :j:j

And next week I'm sure I will be back to flying properly as it will only be 2 weeks then til my birthday party at my house so I need to be on top of everything.

Skint breeder I haven't any ironing, but am procrastinating over my HHWii, so I'll do that while you iron, OK?:o

That's WiiFit, for the avoidance of doubt - it's set up now, so off I go.....
