one of my neighbours (who has since moved) started shooting his mouth off about how long before I would find someone else. On the day of the funeral! What a piece of filth! It seems my stepdad defended my honour :A and demanded an apology and goodness knows what else happened, but it's the first I've heard of it. And he's been upset by it all this time. He was crying when he told me, and I gave him a hug and said stupid comments like that were no reflection on me, just the idiots own standards. How awful that someone thought it was ok to say that, in front of my family :(

Your stepdad sounds so lovely to defend you like that and to fret about it all this time IYSWIM.
Funerals - they bring out the worst in some people.
Maybe he (the neighbour) was hoping to offer you a bit more than a shoulder to cry on IYSWIM and was testing the water.:(

How lovely of your parents to let you have a chilled time:cool:.

I'm sure you'll a very productive week, ecoelle. I find there's nothing more stimulating for a tidy-up than knowing people are going to be coming round (even if, as in my case, it does mean stuffing things out of sight...).

Last night my stepdad (after a few drinks) let slip that something happened after dh funeral. I'd paid for a room and buffet at our local pub, and apparently after most of us had left (just blokes stayed, 3 neighbours, my brother and stepdad) one of my neighbours (who has since moved) started shooting his mouth off about how long before I would find someone else. On the day of the funeral! What a piece of filth! It seems my stepdad defended my honour :A and demanded an apology and goodness knows what else happened, but it's the first I've heard of it. And a lovely stepdad. I feel all teary reading this, he is a fine man indeed :A

    Totally agree :T

My late partner's first wife came to the funeral in a leather mini skirt and matching 3/4 sleeved cropped jacket. I think I laughed more than I cried that day :o

I have barely fluttered this week :( Job/money issues dragging me down. However I saw Joan Rivers live last night, which has cheered me up immensely. Outrageously funny. The company of an on/off close gentleman friend cheered me up as well ;) Think we were one of the few straight couples there. I love Brighton :)

Is it time for Downton yet?

  • Right best round off last weeks stuff - got back with a tonne of food from the Shop were Mum like to go North of Scotland.......

Did pizza buffet for lunch and got 3 meat roasts cooking at the same time so I could just leave it all slowly cooking away while I met my long lost New Zealand cousin from the train station.

Got DD2 to have a quick S&S round bathroom and kitchen while I hot-footed to the station - 9 hours later I saw her safely back on the train, and collapsed into bed in a heap!
The cold never bothered me anyway
