  • Washing shuffled, and dry stuff folded. DH has prepped the veg for dinner and I have eaten a frog by cleaning out a bag of old pampered chef stuff, recycling the paper stuff & cleaning the bag to see if anyone wants it on ebay. Just need to get round to taking all the photos & getting it on there. Such a boring job! Does anyone know when it is free listing?

My headache is back (went to bed for an hour yesterday because of a headache :().
I am contemplating going to town to get a birthday card, but CBA! I need to do something!!

Thanks for all the hugs. We'll just have to wait the 3 months to find out. He's going to phone when he gets to Cyprus. Then BN. 1 silver lining. He'll probably see his niece/nephew as a newborn and he'll make the BIG dinner a week on Monday - White tie and medals.

I'm now a member of the PTA at my school (I'm the 'T');)

Our treasurer has, after 6 years, resigned so they are now looking for a new treasurer; they'd prefer someone with accounting skills. Well I have Business Studies Qualifications and am a dab hand with a spreadsheet. So I fit the bill. I have previously been Treasurer to a Parent and Toddler group.

I was wondering about offering my services if they are still stuck but I wonder if the 'P's would be happy with a 'T' holding office IYSWIM.

    Opinions?

I would assume that all members are equal but get the secretary to check the constitutional details to check who can hold office. How are funds passed to the school? How many signatures on a cheque? You would just want to make sure your own back was covered. HTH.

Feel for you GI, suffering a lot of headaches atm, been for deep tissue therapy today to see if that is the problem. Wonder if it could be an age (hormone) related thing - I think you are a similar age to me.

Only laundry done so far today. Headache eased a bit with a top dose of painkillers.

Need to write a report next.

  • Thanks Dusty :) I used to get headaches monthly with AF, but they have been better since I changed my pill. Don't get the AF either :j Not sure if I am dehydrated or something, or just tired. i felt a bit sick with it yesterday, so that was why I went to bed!

Look at the time!! Where has the weekend gone! :( And it hasn't stopped raining today :( Where is that Indian Summer thay have been promising?

Ok - off to check the towels in the TD and put the chicken in the oven now
  • Urgh. Sat down to shred loads of paper clutter and the shredder packed up on the 1st shredding. It was making a strange noise and now just won't restart and I've unjammed it all.

Oh well. I've made a cuppa and shall look online for a new cheap one so I can try again!

the PTA is a registered charity; two signatories are required for all cheques; no cash is held; all monies paid into bank. There are forms/documents to sign to do with the charitable status. The PTA has to use a particular bank (HSBC), connected with the charitable status.

I would not be in a position to just 'hand' money over to school for purchases.

Also I thought it might look good on my CV;)

    Pah!

made lunch (chicken casserole and mashed pots with broccoli; DS has been playing football so comes back STARVING - they won and he scored!) and made mince-and-carrots for cottage pies, one for their tea tomorrow and one to freeze (see siggy), However I didn't have enough mash so I have one cottage pie and one bungalow! I will freeze the bungalow then top it with mash next make ahead session. Fish Pie has been requested.

I have texted my friend (not a close friend but known her a long time) who's had a baby to say I won't be popping round. I'm full of a cold and have a sore throat. I shall, however, go to work tomorrow so no doubt my name will be mud if I spread it...what with half term being next week!

Howdy! Well, I stayed at my mums last night, had too much wine, and have just lazed on her sofa under a blanket since I got there yest afternoon... She has made me cups of tea and told me to just enjoy the peace and quiet :A

Cam home and have done 3x hhc during which I

    Put a wash on
    Stripped and remade 3 beds
    Collected more washing, towels etc
    Hung washing up to dry
    Put another load in
Put away all the dry stuff
Cleared away any gibble that needed a home
Collected more unused books and toys for the nearly new sale
Had a snack and big drink of water
Checked my bank account and moved some money
Sorted my purses and my bag for work

Last night my stepdad (after a few drinks) let slip that something happened after dh funeral. I'd paid for a room and buffet at our local pub, and apparently after most of us had left (just blokes stayed, 3 neighbours, my brother and stepdad) one of my neighbours (who has since moved) started shooting his mouth off about how long before I would find someone else. On the day of the funeral! What a piece of filth! It seems my stepdad defended my honour :A and demanded an apology and goodness knows what else happened, but it's the first I've heard of it. And he's been upset by it all this time. He was crying when he told me, and I gave him a hug and said stupid comments like that were no reflection on me, just the idiots own standards. How awful that someone thought it was ok to say that, in front of my family :(

Anyway, worse things have happened at sea. What pondlife.

Onwards and upwards, I have more washing to hang up, DW to empty and clothes to sort for tomorrow. It sounds like the kiddies are having a ball. They've had fish and chips today in the place where me and dh took them every time we went to the sea side. And they are going to the sea life centre tomorrow, before coming home.

Hugs to all, see you on the next Fred, if not before x
