Parked in free car park and found 3 pennies so *kerching* in the roadkill fund!
Roadkill fund?:T What a novel idea....I am a terror for picking up stray coins, but they always end up in my purse being spent on whatever....time for a "roadkill pot" I think then I know I can treat myself to something nice once in a while, even if its something small like a bottle of nail polishThe cold never bothered me anyway0 -
I managaed to clear the ironing pile yesterday, so that feels good, but on the downside there are rather a lot of things that haven't been done this week - too many to list. I *may* go to the laundrette later and deal with some duvets and pillows, but then again, I may not. Procrastination, moi?
Jo, as everyone else has said no, you're not putting it off, I'm going to say the opposite and say yes, you are - which is very human. Celia Brayfield (author) said she found herself tidying her pin cushion rather than writing, and my A level tutor (when I was an extremely mature student) said she found herself thinking that mopping the kitchen floor was more important than studying for her PhD. Taking all the good advice I realised that the hardest part of studying was making the decision to sit down to do it. Once your bum is on the chair, it starts to fall into place and you'll feel better. However, like you, I often needed to clear some space before I could concentrate. Can you, for instance, set yourself a HHStudy period at say 11.00?Better is good enough.0 -
WOW skint breeder - what an epic list! I though that was what you PLANNED to do but no - most of it is done! Well done you!
have (in HHC)
pegged out washing
folded towels (which I TD; it doesn't look like that good a drying day) and hung them and other now-it's-been-in-the-Td-it-won't-need-ironing stuff one the maiden to air
wiped mats and coaster so that I can stack them when they're dry
washed stuff that can't go in the DW
got a bin bag - as I empty all the bins I shall pop them in there and add other bits as I find them.
Kids beds are stripped and airing. I have emptied a bag DS used last year in school because I'm sick of seeing it hanging about. It will be put away shortly; every room needs attention at some level

Hope no one minds me bombarding the post, but you all seem so nice and organised and have inspired me to be a Flylady!
But how do I begin? I'm so embarrassed about my home, and have just had enough. I've read the start post and the abbreviations but how do I start? Hope I'm not annoying anyone as sure this has been asked plenty of times! xYou can't get a cup of tea big enough or a book long enough to suit me. ~ C.S. Lewis0 -
welcome the little stranger. Start with Level 1 of today's list. If you achieve that more on to level 2. All rooms will come around next week so don't worry about carrying jobs over.
Back from shopping, need to read some briefing notes for tomorrow. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Not annoying at all, i only joined the thread last wek and found that just having a list helped. What i did, as i lack serious motivation, was i set a timer. So i left the laptop on, with the forum page up and basically picked a small job off monday's list, then set my timer for 30 mins. I started the job, and had time to come back and sign it off and do another one in 30 mins. I was really pleased as it meant i felt like i'd accomplished something and then i let myself have 15 mins catching up with the diaries i like to read, then set the timer again fo r30 mins, picked another couple of jobs and so on... i found that it helped to break up the cleaning and sorting with a coffee and bimble around the diaries as i didn't feel like i'd spent my whole day cleaning, but it also didn't feel like i'd wasted my day. I have to say it is really hard to start but just doing one small job is better than none. You don't have to stick to the lists posted in thread 1 you could write your own, or use the ones posted as a starting point and add 1 of your own jobs each day too.
Good luck!0 -

Hey Honey Bear... I get where you are coming from... But Im not tidying stuff that doesnt actually need to be tidied. Im going to post some photos... youll see Im not debating this lightly... and so I can shame myself into sorting it!
Ive got four weeks to hand in my next essay, so just think that if I gut for a few days... the next four weeks are much less stressful.
So far I have,
Emptied the bins
Moved DS Chest of Drawers
Moved bed
Gutted out underbed storage
Put board games and soft toys under the bed
Put photos/pics up on the walls
stripped LO bed
Changed fuse in old TV/DVD combi and it works!
eleventy million bits of broken junk and rubbish thrown out
...plus a few toys the mice have been at!
Big bucket of toys emptied, cleaned and put away
Hoovered DS room
Built Clothes Rail
Hung up some of DS clothes
I cant remember what else...xx
