What type of map does the Garmin Nuvi 300 use. I looked on the Garmin site but its not very clear.

Also, how much are updates of the UK maps?

    Many Thanks

Just been to local Asda to see if they had a Garmin NUVI 300 in stock (they didn't) however I did see a Evesham N20 on sale for £99 - anyone got any details as to how good they are etc, I have done a quick google search but cannot find much. Thanks

Don't know much about the Evesham N20 but I do know that Evesham customer service is useless :( I live 1/2 mile from where their head office is and where CS used to be fab, it's now about 3/10  They have apparently also just sold out to someone else - might make a difference, not usre.

I have just bought a Navman F20 from Carphone warehouse for £119.99 including delivery. I thought this was pretty good :A

Which is correct? I am guessing the Garmin site but dont know

My question is, can you buy a Garmin with preloaded UK maps and then update to Europe maps? We updated his i3 free to version 9 NT Europe maps. Would this update work on the Garmin Nuvi?

Yes you can use the Nuvi 300 with the V9 Europe disc you have.

The Nuvi 310 comes with UK & Ireland maps and bluetooth. The Nuvi 310D (Deluxe) also comes with Europe.

The map(City Navigator Europe NT) update cost about £40 here

Not sure what you mean by the map 'type', they use their own maps, mapped by Navteq.

Navman ICN 750 from Tesco direct @ £159 or in store same price includes European maps also free safety camera locations from www.navman.com/support/tesco.htm
I have this model and am quite happy with it however its bulky and too big to fit into a jacket pocket if someone is looking for that sort of portability its not for them but functions well and I'd say is good value for money.

I've been a TomTom'er since 2003 (Dell Axim + v2 then original One). I was about to spend £70 quid or so to download the European maps but then saw the Tesco offer.

Ordered the Navman icn750 via Quidco. There is a store collect option to save on postage too. £154 for all of Europe/speedcameras and a big widescreen.

I got one but it took me off the A1M way too early and dragged me off down all kinds of weird country lanes and silly routes  I did get there in the end though so maybe it just needs tweaking a bit...

The v9 DVD will work with any Nuvi or streetpilot satnav.

I still think the best european satnav at the moment is the Nuvi 250 FOR £154, think i saw it with a discount code of GAR15 at The Link
