Do you guys find that the speed that your tomtom/satnav shows is the same as your speedo in your car?
I have always thought my car speed is wrong, but for my first ever outing tonight with satnav, my car said 60 and the tomtom was 50
Gets worse as you go faster!... GSXR speedo reading 185mph garmin sat-nav showing 165 mph, private road :rolleyes:0 -
I bought mine earlier with the 4 easy payments. I wanted to get one for my dad for xmas. so instead of spending £200.00 in one go at xmas, it will be paid for by then! I'll try it out and if i'm not happy i can send it back within 30 days for full refund.Proud Mummy to Leila aged 1 whole year:j0

I think you will find that most car speedometers exaggerate by 5%0 -

I think you'll find that this thread is titled "Sat Nav Bargains" not "My speedo's innacurrate" - it is well known that most speedo's are inaccurate - I worry about the person riding a motorbike at 185 mph and looking at their sat-nav - I would have thought at that speed they'd have more important things to look at.0 -
In answer to the poster about accuracy, my tom tom is about 10% lower than my car's speedo. It seems closer to the polices version of my speed as when I go through speed awareness cameras it reads a similar figure
I also think the qvc deal is better than one saving £1 as their return policy is excellentitaliastar wrote: »I think you'll find that this thread is titled "Sat Nav Bargains" not "My speedo's innacurrate" - it is well known that most speedo's are inaccurate - I worry about the person riding a motorbike at 185 mph and looking at their sat-nav - I would have thought at that speed they'd have more important things to look at.

Speed isn't dangerous, guns aren't dangerous, planes aren't dangerous, knives aren't dangerous!.... They are only dangerous in the wrong hands:cool:0 -

Hey guys - OK were going off subject - Peace !
Getting back to the subject - is the one at £98 in ASDA a Nuvi 300 or 300T or are the in fact both the same. I ask because the woman in my ASDA insists its £202.0 -
NO traffic modules for SatNavs work well (or at all!) in the UK.
The transmitter signal strengths are inadequate. The receivers are designed for a transmitter power level way above that used in the UK.
Don't waste your money.
They don't work unless you wire them in to your car radio aerial and even then, only if you've got an amplified one.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0
