Not a money saving tip I know, but make sure that when you fit a mounting kit, you can easily take it off.

From a thieves point of view, an empty mounting kit could mean the sat nav system is in the glove compartment.

A bit OT, can someone tell me if the tomtom one v2 powers up straight from new (when plug in cig lighter) or does it take a couple hours to charge like a mobile phone?

Reason I ask is I need a TT 1 for my hols on Wed and think I might get it from duty free - but need it to work when I land in Spain.

Anyone help?

You can get the Navman ICN750 for £149.97 from Tesco Direct.
This price is after applying the e-voucher codes for free postage and £10 off spends (see thread on Hotukdeals). Triple Tesco Clubcards points too!
The ICN750 is exactly the same as the ICN720 but with the addition of 17 European country streetlevel maps.

was £136 (UK one) last time i went thru LHR

Not quite sure what the question is - in UK there are 2 versions UK and European, or do you mean buying the local version is Spain then getting UK maps later

Thanks everyone! I have just ordered a Tom Tom one from Tesco direct.

Cost me a total £139.00 (using codes from Hotukdeals) and I got 952 clubcard points worth nearly £40 in deals!!

Just hope I get it all now.
