  • £108 delivered, I reckon this is a good price (ordered one!), did a quick search and best price found was £139.

... the "D" is for "De Luxe, you get the full version of City Navigator NT Europe V9 DVD included. This software comes with two "unlocks", one you use with the 510 (naturally), the second can be used with another Garmin GPS unit. If you have another unit (Garmin Vista Cx handheld in my case), you can get full auto-routing in that too - no speech but otherwise very similar otherwise.

If you don't want use the spare "unlock", you can find some-one else who will be glad to buy you a beer or three...

Like it says further up, available INSTORE at Staples for under £100 with a free 1GB USB Key, so £108 is not particularly good value.

Does anyone know if this Goodmans unit on Amazon is any good?

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Goodmans-GNAV10-Satellite-Navigation-System/dp/B000OEVVAA/ref=pd_bbs_4/203-7787480-9691912?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1181295299&sr=8-4

I didn't even know they made SatNavs, but this includes European mapping for £98.42 delivered.

    THanks.

That is absolute rubbish. The Garmin C510 for £99.91 at Staples was a clearence offer, most stores no longer have this in stock and when they did it was only the odd one, and the 1GB USB stick offer is more than likely finished by now. £108 is still an excellent price for this unit.

yes saw that after I posted, but then again it isn't on staples website for home delivery! and out of interest phoned both my local stores and they didn't have any!..... my c510's are £29.99 when I haven't got any ;)

Couldn't say haven't seen one, probably fine for the money, but look at it like this... tom tom make mainly sat navs, garmin make mainly sat navs, all excellent units (even the garmin i3 I have is an excellent unit, I use it on my motorcycle when it's not raining!) on the other hand goodmans along with the likes of amstrad make loads of different stuff, mostly crap.... too many fingers in pies!! Good chance it may be a rebranded unit by another manufactuer? Personally I'd pay another tenner and get the c510.. it has a 4 digit antitheft code on it, so at least if some crack smokin scumbag nicked it, it wouldn't be of much use:T

and your point is what exactly? Isn't getting something for the lowest price possible what this site is all about??

A quick call to Staples indicates that there is still stock of these in most branches. My local branch has 'more than 5'
and the 1GB USB stick offer is more than likely finished by now.

Nope, still on, or it was yesterday anyway.

Effectively 20% more expensive. Not too excellent then.

Yes of course the point of MSE is to get products at the lowest possible price, but I live in Yorkshire and I have rang every store within 50 miles and there have been non in stock, so £108 was still a very good price - and Miller Brothers have now put it back to £188 so it was a misprice, this just confirms that it was a very good price. Basically it was the next best option if your local Staples had non left.

Agreed, but gone all together now!... look at it another way, the next best price on the web was £139, you were saving 30 quid :D

1gb usb stick won't fit in the c510 and are cheap as chips anyway, and finally... a kick in the b*ll*x if free too, but I wouldn't want one of those:rolleyes:
