and your point is what exactly? Isn't getting something for the lowest price possible what this site is all about??

A quick call to Staples indicates that there is still stock of these in most branches. My local branch has 'more than 5'

Where is your local branch? There were none in sellable condition in Salford, Stockport, or Ashton over a week ago.

    PS ... or Altrincham

  • Looks like good value, 5" screens good, 90 day warranty, not much confidence!... good to see a retailer making a massive point of it been REFURBISHED, unlike some sites that mention it in invisible text so ya think ya buying new!

If he's not going abroad with it and your budget is tight go for the garmin c510 (also same deal at asda electricals online;) just because it's on offer doesn't mean it's poor (garmins range is bigger than tom toms) I just think tom toms are easier to say and some how have acheived 'the best' tag over time through chat rather than merit, tom tom are good but you've got to factor in price... and yes everything you need is in the box, you ( or he'll) be up and running in 5-10mins (unless he reads the destructions!... last resort for me ;).
did you mention sex, food & beer?

thanks spend!! i didnt think anyone would reply to me!! well i am leaning towards a tomtom just cos my dad has used a tomtom and was actually going to go ahead and buy that model for himself...and seen as he liked it then the shop man recommended it i thought i would go for it!!! but now u have thrown a spanner in the works. i am not good with all this bargain hunting (unless it involves boots!) so i think finding the cheapest tom tom with all the gazzilions of codes will take me a while.

Looked at spec. No UK postcode search facility mentioned and if they've refurbished it, why not give at least 6 months warranty ?
