Well done on selling a few things on eBay! I still haven't figured it or, or indeed what I could sell. (I don't seem to own a lot!)

I too am counting down the days 'til pay day... I don't think it comes round often enough :P
  • Thanks, I'm motivated at the moment but I just need to keep going 'cos I don't have a great track record of sticking to things as I'm sure the lady at Slimming World would tell you :o

I'm still waiting for the N*xt courier to phone to arrange a pick up for the broken cross trainer, so I need to get on the case tomorrow and call them to tell them to pull their fingers out

I've done a lot of calculations tonight but can't do the final count of what I can pay off next week till I know what my wages will be. I need to average about £500 per month if I want to be debt free by February 2016. Ideally I'd like to be able to reduce that by a few months, but I don't want to make things too difficult for myself so I'll see how we go.

Time for bed now, have to get up at 6.30 for work tomorrow :p

  • I just wanted to pop in and wish you luck on your Debt Free journey. I had my LBM 2 days ago and it was a serious wake up call. I owe nearly as much as you and it is more than my basic wage.

Luckily there is quite alot of o/time in work at the moment so i am doing an extra 10 hours during the week and 9 on a saturday. This is bringing in about £400 extra a month.

Like you i have a Next account with a balance of £600 that needs to get rid.

Sorry to gate crash your diary :o

  • Hi Danielle, thank you for saying hello, the more the merrier :)

My debt is about the same as my basic wage too. I can't help thinking about what I could do to the house with the cash going out on these bills each month. I could have a nice kitchen in a year or so!

I think I've had about four wake up calls so I hope this is the last one. I was 43 last week and I don't want to carry this debt into my 50's. My kids are all grown up (nearly 24, 21 and 17), I'm in a happy relationship and I want to start having fun and seeing different places.

'Spose I'd better get ready for work. I woke up about 1.00am with a full blown migraine so I'm feeling a bit yuk today.

  • Hi CHQ,
Followed you over from my diary- and I've Just read yours from the start. You're making great progress and have great plans- I feel very motivated now!!

Like you, I've started diaries previously and tried to become debt free, and each time failed, ending up with more debt than previously. I have realized that enough is enough and also realized that I have looked deeply at why I overspend.

It sounds as if you're in a great place at the moment, happy in a relationship and contented with life- think that always helps when trying to make tough choices and deal with debt problems.

You have motivated me to do a signature like yours to keep track of my progress.

Many thanks- I'm off to subscribe now!

    PS- hope the migraines better.

    GLx
  • I'm subscribing :D

I started off yesterday by returning £164 worth of clothes all on the credit card or store card  including £64 on 2 cardigans from Next. The quality of Next clothes has really gone down hill. One of the cardigans was in really bad condition so i took both back. To be honest i can't believe i bought 2 cardigans for £64  I have vowed never to buy clothes from Next anymore as i think there is better quality in Primark :D

Hope work isn't too bad today. I am off to update my sig....

  • Hope your migrane goes soon, horrid things that they are.

Well done for getting your figure sorted, you know what you're fighting now :).

I went to Next today and I too can't believe how bad the quality has got! Primark seems especially good this year.

Unfortunately I have fallen in love with Fat Face today; not so much with their price tags though. Might have to wait until I'm debt free...
  • Hi Goodlife, thank you for coming to say hello :j

My migraine's much better thank you (although I probably shouldn't be eating Dairy Milk :o)

Danielle - I've also decided not to shop at N*xt anymore, its just too tempting. Unfortunately, my nearest Primark is about 40 miles away.

amr - I love Fatface clothes too, but the catalogue goes straight in the bin now to avoid temptation.

Hugandroll - I've got my financial figure sorted. I just need to cut out the chocolate now and get my other figure under control :rotfl:

I already have one bid on the items listed last night and a few watchers on other things.

I need to find time to go to the bank sometime tomorrow. I sold a book last week and the buyer paid by cheque so that needs to be paid in. Someone else paid by e cheque which won't be cleared till the 24th. I won't have to post these items now till after payday, which means I'll have money in the bank to pay for postage :T

Haven't done any surveys yet today. We've had BF's sister here all evening. She has boyfriend troubles at the moment and I think she just wanted someone to talk to.

Chased N*xt up about picking up my broken cross trainer. I couldn't believe they transferred me to 5 different people before I finally got a date for the courier who's coming on Friday to pick it up.

I hope everyone else had a good day today

  • I have serious chocolate problems, always have done :D especially around " that time of the month".

Currently doing SW and have lost 11lbs in 3 weeks. I have had to limit my chocolate intake to a curly wurly :D

I have listed some items on Ebay but has now given me the message that i have reached my limit and i am not allowed to list anymore for another 30 days  Could really have done with the money.

I am off to add up what i have paid to cc's and store cards in the last 2 days....
