  • Hiya,

sorry you have been paid short - hope it gets sorted! not sure if this is do able but I find making a payment a day really helps with my debts. I am currently snowballing so at the moment my main aim is to pay my catalogue off as it has 44.9% APR  So I pay my minimum payment but I also make a small payment each day, today I have paid £1 off but it all adds up! xx

  • Hope your pay gets sorted- things are hard enough without employers underpaying!!

Know what you mean about feeling c**p when you've worked hard and made payments then have little to look forward to until next payday when we do it all again! I have spent the last few months kicking myself for getting into this state and being so stupid but I am trying to be kinder to myself- I hate theres little I can do but plod on paying- have been trying to take a leaf out of Ladybirds book and trying and make the next few years of the debt repayments as pleasant as possible- we need to make a list of free pleasures we can enjoy whilst paying off debt!

The £1 a day payment is a really great idea- do cc companies mind this- knowing my luck they'd find some way of charging me for doing it!!
  • I feel exactly the same goodlife and CHQ. I never look forward to payday anymore because everything spare goes towards the debts.

What's more annoying is that I have 20k of debts and sod all to show for it.

I am going to join in again on the Pad thread. Have done it before then have up. Looking forward to seeing the statements with tiny amounts paid. Haha.

On a better note I had £410 refunded by Natwest yesterday for the bank charges I received over that period they had system problems. Robbing barstewards.

  • Morning Homemadehappiness, Goodlife and Danielle :D

The PAD thread sounds like a really good idea. I'll pop over and have a look after I've finished updating.

Goodlife - thats a brilliant idea, we need to be kinder to ourselves. We live in the middle of mountains and countryside here that people pay a lot of money to come and visit. Its right on the doorstep and doesn't cost a penny. We need the push to go out and enjoy it :)

I'm off today and tomorrow. Today is shopping day and tomorrow is cleaning and washing day. My nearest large town is 30 miles away, so I'd better get cracking, I've got a few jobs to do before we go.

I have an old ring I don't wear any more so I'm going to take that with me so see what I'm offered and if its reasonable I'll sell the ring and do some Christmas shopping.

I also need to be especially nice to BF today because I was a right grumpy old c*w when he came home last night and he didn't deserve it :o

I'll be back later with an update, hopefully with loads of bargains to report.

  • Goodlife I have been making loads of random payments to my Barclaycard and they haven't charged me, they aren't allowed and the law has changed so no debt payment can be refused so you can overpay on loans too :)

  • Thats great Hugandroll, gonna start making £1 a day payments.

CHQ- just noticed your location- North Wales is stunning- I love a break there, will do it again when we become debt-free.

Hope you got lots of lovely bargains!

  • I'm back at last.

Its been a really nice day today, the cupboards are full again and I have a glass of lovely sparkly wine :D

I took my ring and a few bits and bobs of broken jewellery to the gold shop this morning and got £264 :j:j:j:j

I was gobsmacked, I really didn't think it was worth that much. I was a bit sad to sell my ring, but it didn't have any sentimental value and that money's taken a bit of the pressure off with Christmas just around the corner.

Started my Christmas shopping. I bought my dad a book in WHSmith and got a free £5 voucher, I then went back in and bought another book for my mum, using the £5 voucher so mum's book only cost me £5!

The following spends came out of the joint account which we both pay into:-

    1. Card Factory £15.00
    2. Poundland £16.00
    3. Farmfoods £37.85
    4. Lidl £89.30

We won't need cleaning products for a couple of months and we'll only need to top up on bread and veggies in a couple of weeks.

    AND I didn't look at a single handbag :D

The courier should be here tomorrow to pick up the cross trainer which will hopefully knock another £150 off my N*xt bill.

Not much else to report today really. I hope everyone else had a good day :)

  • Hope N*xt come nice and early, lovely thought being able to knock £150 off the bill. Just a thought, if you dont use the cross trainer much, cant you call them in a couple of days and say this one doesnt suit you and get the rest of the money back? Or am I being really dishonest (I'll never go to heaven!!).

    GLx
  • N*xt came for the trainer about 12.30 so I've been home more or less all day. I've done quite a bit today:-

    1. Cleaned the house.
    2. Did my laundry.
    3. Did the ironing.
    4. Cleaned the car.
    5. Went to see my parents.

I also need to limit what I read on here. Last night I read a thread about bed bugs then had to spend all morning today, stripping down beds, hoovering mattresses, turning them over and hoovering the other side. All perfectly spotless but I just couldn't get them out of my mind :o

I have a "thing" about bugs and cleanliness. Not quite obsessive, but I like things clean and tidy :D

I haven't spent anything today, so this is NSD number one. No more ebay sales but I have a few watchers.

I hope everyone else had a good day :)
