I need to vent before I burst or say something I shouldn't :mad:
We've had BF's two youngest boys (16 and 14) here since Monday and almost every comment or remark they make is a dig at "fat" people. I find it really upsetting because although I'm not hugely fat, I'm a size 16 and spent years fighting bulimia. When you've been called "fat" all through school, it sticks with you, and people who make these stupid remarks should be made aware of the damage they cause :mad:
( And breathe...!!)
I've been biting my tongue all week (if you knew me in real life you'd know how hard it's been!), AND they haven't washed at all since they've been here!
BF hasn't a spiteful bone in his body so I can only assume this comes from their mothers side!
Apart from that its been a NSD today, but spent £23 at Mr T yesterdayNext £0.00 Aqua £470.00

You must be counting down the days til they go back to their mother! You have done very well to bite your tongue - kids are cruel. I struggle with my weight - being a size 20 I am envious - I'd love to be a size 16!!!
People really don't think before they speak. I have a new boss who has made several comments about fat staff and sickness levels- just trying to ignore it as I may be taking it too personally.
Chin up CHQ - your partner obviously loves you for you.

Good afternoon everyone :T
Yes, GL, it was tough not saying anything but I did it! I think I was just having a bad day yesterday and everything seemed to get on top of me. BF came home after dropping them off and I suggested nicely that he has a word with them next time about how they see others and how some of their comments can be hurtful.
I'm also really worried about my dad now. Mum seems to be getting better and better, but dad's not so good. He's waiting to go for a camera down to see whats causing it. All xrays and bloods have come back ok so I'm hoping its nothing nasty. I'm taking him to hospital on Thursday. I'm sure he shouldn't be waiting this long for the camera (they told him he needed it in October!) so I'll go in with him and see what they say.
I'm at work today (its lunchtime) and its really quiet. I had a cup of coffee (free with token) and bought a newspaper and a pot of lovely pesto. I like taking cooked pasta to work sometimes, it saves me eating too much bread
Sold two items on ebay this morning so that's another £10 into the pot. Every little helps
All three of my boys will be over for dinner tonight together with DS1's girlfriend so its going to be a houseful. I made the pastry for the goats cheese tartlets yesterday and I'm hoping the tagliatelle won't take too long. DS2 loves cooking so he'll probably "help".
Its time I went back to work. Hope everyone is having a lovely NS Saturday xNext £0.00 Aqua £470.00

Hi CHQ, hope its good news for your dad on Thurs. Families are such a worry, I seem to be living at the Hosp with mine at moment - will be thinking of you.
Hope you've had a lovely evening with your boys - your menu sounded lovely.
I have started to make firm plans to pay off as much debt as possible this year - I managed a NSD !
I need to get started with ebay again too
GL x0 -
Well done on the NSD GL :T
I'm at work again today, but its quiet again, so I'm having a sneaky read of a few diaries!
Last night went really, well. The food was lovely, even if I say so myself, I just wish DS1's GF spoke a bit more.
I worked out on the way to work this morning, that I've changed 8 loads of bedding since the week before Christmas (not including mum and dads bedding) and cooked 4 three course meals for between 2 and 6 people............no wonder I feel tired! I don't want to sound like the Grinch, but I'm glad Christmas is over - I need a rest
Yesterday was a NSD for me too and it looks like today will be the same. Its really thick fog here, so I'm not going to bother going out at lunchtime (always my downfall!).
Brought my own lunch to work - pasta shells, tomato, red onion and the remains of a pack of ham from the fridge all mixed up with some Fiery Pesto. I don't think I should be thinking about my lunch yet though, cos I'm already starving
No more extra payments to report, just yet, but I have a few more items ending on Eb*y today, so I may have a few pennies to pay off some more next week, or I may just put it in the fund to pay for road tax.
January's going to be a hard slog till payday, but we'll get there - you just have to think positive, all the bills are paid this month and we have food in the fridge :T
I've been following a thread on the OS board about household diaries - its brilliant, but I'm a complete stationary addict, so I have to force myself not to rush out and buy a lovely new ring binder to keep everything organised. I already have a lovely pink notebook where I write everything down each month and it really does help.
Oh yes, and I've had 1 chocolate free day :T
Ok, I'd better go and look for something to do, or at least look busy

Good evening!
I've neglected my diary a bit this week, but I'm back now
There's 7 days till payday and I'm down to £7.09 in the bank and about £7 cash in my purse. We should be ok, BF's using my car tonight so he'll put some diesel in to last till payday. I'm working this weekend then I'm off for 5 days, so I won't be needing the car much this week.
On the plus side, I've made almost £100 on e*ay since Christmas which is a relief :T
I wasn't working today, so I've done all the ironing and most of the laundry. DS1's just been and gone, we had lovely chicken tikka masala with rice. I only had 2 chicken breasts so I bulked it out with some garden peas and it fed us all
I had some bananas a bit past their best so I've had a go at making banana bread. The jury's still out though, I'm not sure if I like it
Not much else to report really, I think January is just a month of "getting on with it" and trying to make it to payday.
I'm off tomorrow so tomorrow's job is phoning around to try and get the best price for tyres because I need two.
I hope everyone else has a good week xNext £0.00 Aqua £470.00

Hi CHQ, you sound like you're as busy as ever!
I've started putting less meat into my casseroles as and curries recently - it does save money and nobody notices.
How did your dad get on last Thurs? Hope you don't mind me asking.
Good luck for the tyre hunt tomorrow - why does everything cost so much??

Morning all, hi GL!
Last Thursday went ok thanks, nothing new said, but the doc gave him a good going over, and at last his appt for the camera came through.
As they get older, I think parents see it as payback time and embarrass you whenever they get the chance! There must've been a few different clinics held there last week because the waiting room was full and there was a sign on the wall directing 'GUM' patients to a different reception. Dad pipes up in a very loud voice " there must be a dental surgery here today......." you can imagine the rest! I explained when we got back to the car :rotfl:
It's snowing here this morning, but not too bad. I hope it keeps off till later, DS1 has to drive back down to Cardiff tonight.
Does anyone else have a problem with condensation? It's like fighting a losing battle here, you clean it off and two days later its back! I've spotted some mould resistant paint, so I'm going to start with the bathroom next month to see if it works.
I have one buyer from Turkey still not paid for a pair of jeans. I've given him two chances but if he hasn't paid today I'm opening a non paying bidder case against him.
Right I'd better go and see what the damage is going to be for these two tyres.

Back Again!
I phoned 8 different places and prices ranged from £450 + vat to £156 + vat. I phoned the last place and they came down to £150 all in :j
I don't know if buying budget tyres is a false economy but time will tell I 'spose. Anyway, I can't afford anything else at the moment
We also need coal and logs out of next month's wages :eek:
I think I need to get onto the OS board for some cheap eating tips. I hate having no money
