Just checking the bank accounts as you do when you're awake at 03:00 :rotfl:

£159.99 interest paid on our everyday savings account :T Transferred to 2018 MOP pot.

~ £1,500 transferred to the mortgage - we are ending 2017 in the 30s :j

    LTV = 10% :)
Mortgage at highest (April 2008): ~£195,000
    Mortgage-free: January 2021

Brilliant end to the year! (well, not the cough!)

Is the 50% of your salary going into a pension of some sort, or more standard savings, or a combination? Being nosy because pensions/ retirement is where we should be focussing our attention now and I really struggle to get my head around it all (and find the pension board a bit scary!)

    Happy New Year! :)

Happy New Year to you too greent :)

The pension board is way too scary for me! The money is split:

1/3 to my Novia S&S ISA
1/3 to my employer's sharesave scheme
1/6 to my Royal London pension
1/6 to my Nationwide regular saver (5% interest)

I also have a L&G pension through work - 4% from me, 12% from my employer.

  • My aim for December was to end the month no heavier than I started it... I've just weighed myself and I'm 1lb lighter :T

    :T:T:T Well done MWC!
    4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)
(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)
    ...and now I have a mortgage! (23 AUG 2021)
New projection - 14 YEARS 10 MONTHS LEFT OF 20 YEARS (reduced by 15 mths)
Psst...I may have started a diary!
  • I'm really achy and full of cold :( so Mr MWC has gone to the family party without me.

I've made a start on menu planning for January & February (well I've made a list of 33 dishes I want to eat and that we have most of the ingredients for!). I reckon that we will only need to buy fruit & vegetables, frozen berries, milk, yoghurt, oats, 2 chicken breasts and bread.

    That's superb MWC :T.

Glad Mr MWC likes his posh boil in the bag thingy :D.
