Hope the fitters get themselves sorted out muddy and that you're back on track pronto. Will the supplier be able to supply the correct colour cupboards quickly?
Remember, it will be lovely when it's done........

I keep telling myself that Greying but there were tears yesterday evening
The final coat of paint is applied in situ so the kitchen company say that everything will be ok (just as long as they use the right colour and further complicated by our choice of in-frame doors...)
The builder gave me some !!!!!!!! about how it was supposed to look like that and it just needed one more coat...Mortgage at highest (April 2008): ~£195,000

Aw hun - that's not good
So the paint colour has got to match the 'depth' of blue you are holding up? How is it applied in situ - by brush? And is that to avoid knocks and dinks during the fitting process?
At least they know that you've got concerns and if they've anything about them, they'll ensure it's perfect.
Tell me the builder isn't part of the kitchen co - he's doing his 'bit' and isn't paid to know about colours.......
And I hope there is a BIG boquet of flowers for you from the kitchen co. at the end of it all - you know, when it turns out beautifully

Yes, the base units should be dark blue (colour-matched to Dulux Sapphire Salute to be exact!) and yes, the final coat is applied by brush when the kitchen is fully fitted.
The builder isn't part of the kitchen company but he was recommended by them. I'm paying him separately. I'm paying the kitchen company to fit the kitchen but the builder seems to be supervising the fitters. I've taken a bit of a dislike to the builder...

I hope it all comes right with the kitchen cabinets. I had all my old kitchen cabinets painted last year and the exact same colour paint from the same company was a slightly different colour (lighter) from the spray can compared to that from a tub applied by brush so there is a good chance that it will come out the same colour when painted.Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%

We're looking at kitchens (as you know
) (and looking at in frame Shaker style too) and the process with 'our' kitchen co is similar - bottom spray coat at factory and then top coat applied by hand - and I was told the bottom coat isn't always a good representation of top colour (especially if a more 'unusual' colour - we were considering F&B brinjal at one point) so.... hopefully your kitchen will be fine when handpainted xx

It's payday :j
Had a long chat with the kitchen designer this evening and got a few things off my chest... feeling much better now!
The paint company sent them the wrong paint. It's going to be a lot of extra work for them to put right but they won't compromise on the quality of the finish.Mortgage at highest (April 2008): ~£195,000

Are they doing 2 (or whatever is required) coats by hand instead now?I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200
