HI, did any one read my previous post about claiming my charges back?
just wondered if any one could offer any advice about it?
thanks0 -
Hi jonwayne,
I dont know if I can be of any help because I am new to this too...but the address you should have sent your first letter to was, I think,
Barclays Data Protection
Radbroke Hall
Knutsford
Cheshire
WA16 9EU
I suppose it would always be worth ringing your local branch and asking if they have received the cheque etc. and what they plan to do then if you get no joy you can always send off to the other address. It means a bit of a delay but you will get there!!!

thanks for the response
ill wait for the 40day period to see if i hear anything then send it to that address.
i dont suppose my local branch would forward it to that address would they?!
i have no idea how much i should get i might be pleasantly surprised!
cheers0 -
Sorry if this has already been asked before - I am very new to this!!
I sent off the template to Halifax to get them to send me my charges over the last 6 years. I got a reply after 45 days. I then calculated the interest on top and sent them Martin's second template to ask for the money and interest back and that I expected a response within 14 days. I received a letter back in 3 days saying that they would look into it within a month and could take longer.
As Martin says to stick to your timetable and not theirs - the 2 weeks is up now - shall I send them a letter chasing them up? If so, how should I word it?
Thanks to anyone that an offer some advice! :rotfl:

not quite a success story cont.....
today i phoned back the customer relations manager at Halifax. i told him that despite his promise of a full settlement to be in my bank by close of business yesterday which would make the payment within the timescale they stated to me, i had not recieved it.
he informed me that the cashiers had queried my payment in an email to him after he had gone home yesterday. but i would definately get the money today. i made this phone during my break at about 0915 this morning. he also informed me that the cashiers are there til 8pm as EVERYBODY wants their money back (well of course) and they were dealing with a back log!!!!
my partner checked my bank account at about 12 noon and
I HAVE MY MONEY BACK!!! YIPEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!halifax: settled paid £2622.18:j
lloyds tsb: £1038.83 inc interest, but claim on hold.0 -
Hi...
Sorry of I am in the wrong place...
just wanted a quick answer to a problem..
I recently got remarried and had no need of two current accounts - so I closed my own account (that had quite a lot of charges and this was one of the reasons I did)... can I still claim charges for the period I had the account (over six years)
Sorry to impose...

i have successfully claimed bank charges from the norwich & peterborough bs and they duly closed the account on the 19 april.I transfered to the abbey and everything seemed fine.i have received a letter from the n & p today saying that a payment has been made on the visa debit card that went with the account.in order to do this they reopened the account and payed the claimant £17.99 thus putting the account into the red ! on speaking to them they say that because it was a visa debit card they have to pay it.my arguement was that the visa debit card must surely be cancelled on closure of the account and they cannot just reopen an account when it suits them.i cannot go on line and view the account so how can they open it willy nilly!! does any one know the legalities of this and should i take it to the ombudsman?0

Follow the guides in reclaim bank charges. Write to the bank first and then follow the templates.0 -
