Hi
I know that you can reclaim bank charges does it also apply to credit card charge, e.g taking out advance cash from credit cards and they charge a fee for the privalage which i think it is it is too much. Can anyone please confirm this if the tamplate letter can be sent to Bank credit card companies aswell. I hope to hear from you thanks in advance.
Yes you can reclaim using the same template letter, and reclaim charges such as overlimit charges and late payment charges.
Good luck0 -
Hello everyone. What a BRILLIANT site. A MASSIVE WELL DONE to Martin :money: .
I am new to this site and am struggling to find my way around it so hopefully this message is going to the right area. If not then please tell me so.
I have sent Nationwide the 2 template letters (As I already have copies of my statements which I enclosed I used the 2nd and 3rd templates) and got a very similar response to both. In a nutshell saying that I had signed an agreement to their charges when I opened my account therefore they are offering me nothing.
Do I now go to the next stage and take them to court?
Thank you
Yes, you're now entitled to start court proceedings as you've not received a satisfactory response from themGood luck ... very few people actually have to attend court, the banks usually pay up before.
Wins since 2009 = £17,600MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS0 -
Thanks for your advice0

Hi sent a letter last week to 3 banks requesting statements over the last 6 year.
How long on average do they take before they respond to your letter?
Also, since having these bank accounts i have married, so my name and address have changed but i have made a note of this in the letter i sent out, and have included my previous name and address...i hope this doesn't delay the process even more!!
Any feedback will be much appreciated...0 -
does anyone have a telephone number for the Natwest as they have only sent 4 years of statementsMy Mission today is to have an opinion on everything.
If you don't like it well you will just have to lump it!0 -
if you have been charged interest on these bank charges can you ask for the interest to be refunded as you would not have been charged interest if they hadn't of put the charges on ????????
can you do that?????My Mission today is to have an opinion on everything.

Hi.....hope Edinburgh lass is still on line..........sorry to be a pest, but just double checking, ....when I work out my bank charges and intrerest for each one, thats it isnt it...........thats the total you claim for , or do I deduct an amount which I feel is a fair charge ????? TOTALLY lost due to the fact I had an email from a freind (( both doing the same, with same bank )) but his total for his charges was EXTREMELY high.......it seemed that he worked out his charges plus interest for both of his accounts which came to quite a high amount for eg: lets say £16,000 but then he said that he should be claiming £25, ooo in total..............ANY HELP PLLLLLLLLEASE........... have I done this all wrong ???????????0

Lyndsey is correct about the Late Payment and Overlimit fees but the cash advance charges are technically service fees and not reclaimable sorry0 -
chek 3019 if they try to close your account then you go to the banking onbudsman and they will take your case on and your account will be reinstated and they can award compensation0
