 Good Luck
I am claiming around £4,500 from Barclays. They offered me £1000 in the early days, which I turned down. I then commenced the claim. I have claimed for charges plus interest. I am now at the stage where they have said they are going to defend my claim, and it is being transferred to my local court. As yet (10 days on) I have not had a date for that hearing. I'm seeing it throuigh now whatever. They are being really awkward with me now. Does anyone know how long the process of transferring to a local court usually takes? I really would like this behind me before I go on holiday in May.0

            Hi,
I sent away for my statements from the Halifax and they sent them out within two week, I went through them highlighting the charges and then put all the details in to a table and sent it back to them with a template letter asking for my money back.
I have just received a letter from the customer relations officer saying sorry to learn i am unhappy with the charges to my account. It goes on to say that the complaint handling rules set by their regulator, the Financial Servicesd Authority, gives them up to 8 weeks to investigate a complaint.
It continues to say they will respond at the earliest opportunity however they want to ensure my concerns are thoroughly investigated. Then it says if for any reason we are unable to respond fully to your concerns within the next 4 weeks we will write to update you on our progress.
I feel they are just fobbing me of, has anyone had this problem and what should i do?. The template letter i sent for asking for my money back said they should return my money in 14 days.
 Thanks, Shelley
Just send another letter saying that you give them a further 14days to payup or you will instigate court proceedings without further notice. That's what i said and did.0

It depends entirely on how busy your local court is ... I've read on some threads that people are waiting for 3 months, in other cases it can be much sooner. Wins since 2009 = £17,600MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS0 Wins since 2009 = £17,600MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS0

Hi i recently send of the template letter to my bank HSBC they received on monday16th and got a letter today saying that they need to verify my address and signature as they are not correct on their records, now i moved house 3 years ago and changed my address with bank straight away. I went into HSBC today with the letter so that i could verify both details the women could not understand why they asked about address as was update hence i wouldnt get letters to my address otherwise. Anyway i did a form to redo my signature and they photocopied my driving license so they got my address and she said they would send of the details today to correct department. Do i still give them 14 days from the day they received letter then send the second letter out?

            Hi,
I have issued my claim on MCOL.
When checking status it says -
Your claim request has been accepted. The Defendant has 14 days from the date they are served with the claim, to reply.
The claim was issued on 11.04.07, how do i know when they are served with the claim, so i can prepare for the 14 days
 Thanks for your help0

As a newbie, I'm probably butting in and posting in the wrong area - soz - but I can't quite work out where exactly to post my query. Maybe someone could let me know the best place if this isn't?
Hello there, I have a cheque account converted to an overdraft in order to pay £11,000 debt on two credit cards. I missed one payment by accident and, in the same year, I fell behind with one payment for one month and First Direct politely asked me to leave. For years I had paid what must have amounted to thousands of pounds in charges, so I'd quite like to politely ask them for the return of some of that. However, I don't remember signing any contract re this 'overdraft', which I guess means they can change the goalposts at any time. They did discuss a contract, though I never received it to sign it. Two years after setting up the repayments, could I now insist on a contract to cover our 'gentleman's agreement' to prevent them upping the low interest rate to punish me when I begin the process of reclaiming six years of extortionate charges?
 Thanks0

Hello Am New To This Site So Forgive Me If This Question Is In The Wrong Place But I Am Reclaiming Bank Charges From Lloyds Tsb Just Over £4000 My Worry Is That After 2 Letters Sent To The Bank I Started A Claim On Line The Bank Has Until The 6th Of May To Defend...... But My Worry Is That I Have Read That You Have To Send A Spread Sheet Of All Charges In With Your Claim But I Also Read That You Only Send This After They Defend And You Have Been Sent The Questionaire From The Court??? Which Is Right Can Anyone Tell Me When You Are To Send Other Info Was There Anything Else I Should Of Done When Making The Claim Like Sending Other Info By Post?? Sorry To Go On But Feeling Rather Concerned About It Any Advice Would Be Great0

They knew they had the correct address and I've not read of them verifying absolutely everyone else's ID so it it wasnt strictly necessary. The details would have only taken seconds to update on the computer or between departments by phone I cant see any valid reason to allow longer than 14 days really 0 0
