Barclaycard are a pain. I sent my first letter dated the 21 feb and still haven't got my statements. Barclays so far have been okay.
Can anyone help with this please. I sent second letter asking for money back. Received letter of barclays saying they are sorry to hear me complain about their service and they have said they will give me an answer by the 1 may. They will have received the second letter on the 30 march so their 14 days are nearly up. Should i phone them or write to them to politely remind them of the timescale i have set. What should i do? thanks0 -
Hi,
This is a first for me so i hope i'm doing it right.
I can now send my initial letter to the Natwest but i'm unsure where to post it. Does it go to my local branch or head office and does it need to be sent recordrd delivery?
Many thanks0 -
I sent my 1st letter on the 2nd march asking for my bank statements and I still haven't recieved them yet.
Last monday I phoned them and the woman on the phone said she would e-mail them asking where they where, she told me to phone back in a couple of days which I did on Wednesday last week, they then said they still had had no response to the e-mail which was sent on monday, phone back in a couple of days.
I called yesturday and they have now said my mortgage statments where sent on the 5th april.
I have not got a mortgage with the Halifax and have not recieved any thing at all from the Halifax.
He told me he would order them again but I will have to wait another 28 days
but they wouldn't charge me because it was their fault.
Can I trust them or are they just binding time?
I don't know whether to report them to the information commisioner.
What shall I do?0 -
Life should be a little nuts; otherwise it's just a bunch of Thursdays strung together.0

the halifax seem to be one of the worst to deal with and they try to delay the proceedings at every opportunity. Just keep to the timetable and take every action on time as per instructions.0

You are better sending by recorded delivery so you have proof of postage and it being delivered. Not Buying it 2015!0 -

Have started the first part of my claim against them today. (sent off for 3 years statements) Such a long way to go compared to some of you. But what do I have to loose they closed my account in January, so now bank with Lloyds (basic account). I owe them £2500 off which £1500 is bank charges, unpaid DD, cheques, interest, letters to inform you your account is over its limit. Will probably be back on here real soon asking for advice especially from people who have dealt with barclays. Anybody here dealt with Barclaycard and Monument for the same sort of thing???
Hi Penny
i am dealing with Monument credit card and what a !!!! they are..ere goes
got my statements very quick posted a letter recorded del with a list of charges and the request for refund and kept a copy of the letter and the template used from martins web site at first i thought great had a response the same week they give me all the blah blah and offred me £250.00 i was asking for 750 . I then telephoned the num on the letter i spoke to a very rude lady who said well that was the most i would get as Monument always stick to thier guns basically..i informed her i was not happy with the amount and i would send a letter to confirm this she told me to go ahead.
sent the next letter of threaten to court...no response after the 14 days ...
so filed via MCOL it cost me £80.00 but i am now ready for them.
Monument filed a acknowledgment the same day it was issued ??so they now have until the 25th to file a defence so we shall see??They have made no further contact as yet or further offers and i dont think they will???
the amount i want will clear the remaining bal on the card but i would be happy with that ,1 less debt....i hope0 -
I am in exactly the same position, Abbey had acknolwledged my claim and are going to put in a defence, which they have to do now before tuesday. I am also worried but stick to your guns! and take them all the way to the cleaners. p.s i would really like to know how you get on.0

Yes they are getting hacked off hence the removal of the need for the AQ by some judges, can only be good news
If it is necessary then yes it is refundable as part of your court costs payable by the bank. They may offer settlement before the court hearing so be sure to negotiate all costs and interest into this figure before accepting.
As for adding recent charges to the claim at this stage it is something I am not too sure about and maybe someone else can advise. There is nothing stopping you negotiating them into any settlement though. Be aware of the terms for accepting any settlement and do not sign to say you will not claim in future. Make note of any dates shown as a settlement period. Providing whatever amount you settle on isnt stated or accepted as 'full and final' for the period the extra charges were applied then you can start the process again and claim them afterwards if neccessary. Its a case of picking your way through any offer they make really. Good luck
Thanks again Twinkly, very helpful, and thanks for your good wishes. At the end of the day we are all after the same result. I really do feel that I am not willing to let them off one penny from now on; they have had a fortune out of us over the years, mortgage, insurances etc. All you want is a bit of support when the hard times are around - this time next year my mortgage will be finished and kids education will have come to an end.0
