How do i get on the Lloyds tsb thread ??any help please0

I need some advice really. I recently was successful claiming my charges back from the halifax. I wanted to do the same with a closed account i had with Natwest. I got the statements today and i owe them £1200 as they have been adding interest etc on the account as it had an overdraft. Can i claim the interest back plus charges or do i quit now?
You can claim the charges back off a closed account. If their charge put you over the limit incurring the overdraft and the overdraft is purely charges you can reclaim the interest too. If you added to the overdraft at all yourself withdrawing money then you cant claim interest for that.
Seperating the interest is frankly such a pain I wouldnt bother. You can claim 8% interest per charge from the date of the charge at court level so that is all I would worry about personally. Good luck with your claim0 -
I'm sorry but I'm having a very 'senior moment' and am totally lost. I've received my information from Lloyds TSB - there are four types of entry - o/draft interest - account charge - unpaid d/d - o/draft excess fee.
Could somebody please tell me which of these charges I can reclaim? I've tried making sense of the mountains of information on the site - but the more I read the more muddled I get.....0 -

Most of the answers to initial questions can be found also in the threads on the first page of the forum marked as 'sticky'. The following is a list of charges you can and cant claim for. Thanks to Rex_Mundi for the original post.
CAN BE CLAIMED
Account misuse fee
Cheque return fee
Card misuse fee
Unarranged borrowing fee
Unauthorised overdraft fee
Unpaid DD fee
Unpaid cheque fee
Unpaid standing order fee
Late payment fee (credit cards, store cards, catalogues etc)
Exceeding Authorised Overdraft Limit
Exceeding Unauthorised Overdraft Limit
Direct Debit/Standing Order/Cheque returned fee
Irregular fee
Paid refferal fee
Total charges (HSBC personal accounts only, not business accounts)
CANNOT BE CLAIMED
Cash Machine Withdrawl Fees
Account Service Charges
Service Fee / Annual Fee
Charges related to foreign currency transactions and conversions.
Monthly account fees on certain type of accounts.
Normal overdraft interest charges
Different banks may name their charges different names so if in any doubt as to what a particular charge is either check with your bank or ask in the forum here. Also some banks have taken to calling some of the above charges 'service fees' and not 'default' charges. This is a bit of a fib to say the least :rotfl:
Good luck with your claim0 -

Post #3 in the Reclaim Bank Charges Help thread shows the address for Abbey as:
ABBEY NATIONAL PLC
ABBEY NATIONAL HOUSE
2 TRITON SQUARE
REGENT'S PLACE
LONDON
NW1 3AN
Or you can hand in the letter to your local branch and it will be forwarded internally to the correct department. Saving you postage and getting a receipt for the letter in the process. If you post make sure to use recorded delivery.0
