can anyone advise me what to do next. . i have , i think won my case by default . but i dont know what to do next. The court has sent the bank an order, but how long do i wait until i recieve a cheque or until i have to send in the bailliffs.
Quote from Martin's Tips:
Sadly, when the banks don’t defend a claim, they don’t always pay up automatically even though they’ve lost. Whilst mention of bailiffs isn’t normally the most cheerful subject on this site, let’s happily make an exception. If the bank doesn’t pay, you’ve a right to send the bailiffs in to claim the money; a number of people have exercised this option, and again it’s easy to do via the Moneyclaim site.
If you are doing that, I’d love to send a photographer to record such a moment; please e-mail press@moneysavingexpert.com and let us know (please do not email this address with general queries though, it's only for photos).
Sorry, I can't offer any further advice, hope this helps.0 -

My two penn'orth is to check whether the court have set a timescale for payment. Around 14 days is probably reasonable but personally once I had received copy of the judgement a trip to my local bank and a private word with the bank manager should sort things out there and then I would hope. A call to Head Office should sort the matter quickly. Bailiffs might be neccessary eventually but this polite and court informed approach might work initially. Good luck0 -
From MCOL FAQ....

Q. I issued a warrant two weeks ago and I have not heard anything, why not?
A. Warrants are not actioned immediately. The defendant's local court will receive your warrant. They will then write to the defendant to advise them a warrant has been issued and that they have seven days to contact the bailiff to make payment / offer of payment. If no response is received the bailiff will then visit the defendant's property. The time limit on this depends on how busy the court is, but this is usually within fourteen days. Warrants can take several weeks to action, as the bailiff may have to visit the property more than once. Q. How will I know the progress of my warrant?
A. The court executing the warrant will update you by post. Your claim will also be updated on the website. If you require an update you can contact the local court directly and speak to their enforcement section.0 -
Hi, I think I have made an error. I am at the stage with LLoyds TSB where I have just started the legal side of things. On my original letters to the bank I only covered charges for a 2 year period. I have since uncovered an extra £2000 in charges for the 4 years previous to this. Can I amend my original claim or Can I start another claim from the beginning to cover those 4 years?
Grateful for any help.

Hi. I'm about to file the claim on MCOL. Does anyone have an address to use for Abbey as I have 2 or 3 and not sure which one to use. Help asap please.0 -
Success in first reclaim. £1850 from Barclays. Have sent letters to MBNA, Goldfish, Royal Bk of Scotland, Black Horse and Leeds BS. Also should probably write to Next Store card.Stu0

Team, I have followed the system down the line against the Alliance & Leicester, everything has been pretty much as predicted untill they did not aknowledge my claim and send me a cheque as most seem to have done.
In fairness the court has found in my favour as they recieved no response and a notice of judgement entered in my favour on the 26/3/07.
unfortunatly this is where Martins advice seems to fade apart from the baliffs option which is also the mcol next option.
can anyone advise wether they have recieved payment or communication at this point? Do they have a set period to respond? Should I contact them?
I am just at a loss what happens now.....
