    Hi folks,

Got letter offering me refund to my charges from Bank Of Scotland. They said i will get them within 14 days off returning letter. Anyone who has received charges back from them, did it take the 14 days to get refunded??

does anybody know what I should do about putting the wrong year on my letter for claiming charges please? I'm a dozy bint :o
  • Sorry first post and I may get the etiquette a little wrong!
I am trying to find the right place to send my first letter re bank charges and am a little confused.
My bank is Lloyds/tsb and I seem to have found several places to write. The latest suggestion on the site mentions LLoyds in Birmingham but can't tell if that is right as I have had two alternatives.
    Can anyone help please?

    Hi all.
Filed MCol on monday against GE capital. I had sent first 2 letters to them without even a reply (last one dated 3rd March) so on the Sunday 18th i filed MCOL. Claim was filed 19th and sure enough as luck would have it i got an offer of full amount £63 (NOT INCluding interest ) on the 20th. Too Late to cancel and anyway it cost £30. I got my cheque today £63.00.
Do I cash it anyway or send it back until court makes award with interest and court fee.

    hi guys
i wrote to natwest on 17th march. i just called to see if they had recieved my letter and i was told yes and an offer for £558 has been sent £558 was just charges so they wont give me anything for interest (£80.02) im actually happy with this after looking again at the charges on bank statements i see i was already refunded 2 ammounts...

anyyway i called cab regarding i wanted the money in a cheque and not paid into the bank account as im over drawn and with credit managament i wouldnt recieve a penny.. anyway cab have emailed me a template letter to send which says its my money and they should refund me how i want it to be refunded, i then called the county court in torquay and the lovely gentlemen there told me he had other people the same position as me.... filed with court as they want the money to go to other debt, anyway he sayed not one bank turned up at coirt and then i won throuh defult, the court say i have the money how i see fit, if they pay it into my bank then i will go back to court and say i have not receved the money in the way i wanted so i will have to get the balifs in!!!

just thought i would let you know as there maybe someone out there in same situation with me....

    all the best

Hi Kaz, just wondering what number you rang as I claimed from the 16th March, I might try & call them too. (even though I dated my letter 2006 by mistake!!!)

Dont worry about the 2006 thing. They probably wont even notice if its the date of the letter you mean and not specific to any time period for reclaiming.

    If they do...say its a typo :D

If you have already filed at MCOL then there isnt much else you can do I dont think other than to see the court process through.

You asked for interest and technically they didnt pay it or make an offer without interest ( which I believe you have to accept if made before court claim) until after you filed at court. Technically I would say let it ride and return the cheque stating why.
