i wonder how BG will present that information on a rise in their adverts.

Sainsburys is an excellent choice, you even get Nectar points. Only one problem Sainsburys energy is actually British Gas.

Ah ha, thank you. Yes the leaflet said 10,000 nectar point which is about £50 and £65 off your first bill. Will be doing it:T

I see there is now a fashion for eletric reclining sofas.

If we can have heated seats in cars, why not sofas?

Alternatively, instead of bunny slippers, what about converting electric blankets into bunny suits? One piece that unzips at the front. You can make it a Mickey Mouse suit with a tail that plugs into an adaptor so it's low voltage. An Apple style magnetic plug that pulls away safely would be good.

Stage two is cordless. Infrared absorbing material sewn into clothes, with a RFID tag.
We mount infra red projecors on the walls, pointing at places you usually sit, e.g. desk or sofa. When you are on the sofa, a sensor detects your presence, and the infra red starts heating your bunny suit. There should obviously be some kind of thermal cut out.

Try it out on a pig first. If it becomes roast pork, it's back to the drawing board.

....and the slight problem that North Sea output peaked at around year 2000, and is now declining at 6% each year...every year...until it gets to zero.

So we UK are going to have to have to get used to paying someone an increasing amount of money if we want the oil/gas to come to us rather than them sell it to another country.

I think the argument is that if the energy industry was still nationalised any profits made may have gone to imo more worthy causes like investing in proper storage facilities instead of shareholders profits. Don't get me wrong, if the opportunity is there I'm no moral than the next person - until recently, when I sold them, I was getting great dividends on my UW shares. But the temptation shouldn't be available in the first place. As the energy industry stands at the moment we have ludicrous duplication - CEOs, sales depts, CS depts, hugely expensive it systems, parasitic comparison websites etc etc etc.

I'm not surprised. A bit annoyed yes. The worst thing is that moving somewhere else is completely pointless as all of the energy suppliers are just as bad as BG.
