Organic food in supermarkets

Thanks Kirri and Edwardia.
I can find organic spinach and celery for home delivery at Sainsbury and Waitrose but would like a regular 'supply' - a larger Morrisons in a better area sounds like a plan.
Purple potatoes and Flower Sprouts are from named farms in the UK, samphire is from Israel tho. I'm just too excited to see something different, today is the first time I've seen organic peppers in years, darn food desert!! :rotfl:Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
BACKFRMTHEEDGE that's kinda weird but good about the carrots.
I'm guessing all the chemicals on the non organic stuff irritate the skin on my hands...
I went into my local Co-Op yesterday to see what organic stuff I could find - the only thing I found in a rather large store was organic Rocket! Err why lol??? Nothing against Rocket ,just seemed a strange thing to find all on its lonesome....Absolutely nothing else...
Thought this might interest you:-

Edwardia - Morrisons also do samphire, no idea where it comes from as not looked that close. This has only been stocked since the store upgrade though.
Firefox - must admit I am a bit immune from it all as living in London I can more or less get what I want here luckily! Or a lot of the so called speciality veg now appearing in shops I grow myself anyway! Org peppers have been stocked for ages in Asda and Morrisons but Morrisons especially are usually from Israel this time of year. I never really trust org stuff from outside Europe so don't buy (no idea how well regulated it is?) plus if it's available from closer is Spain I'd rather have that - presume it's down to price but the veg box scheme co's are getting them from Spain at the mo iirc.0 -

Edwardia they were really nice oats, tried them this morning for the first time, i bought them from tesco the other week but would pay a pound at Morrison's for them, worth it in my opinion.0 -
Thanks y'all looks like a trip to Morrisons is on the cards in my near future.
I was going to visit Co-op in next town which is bigger than ours but ended up taking dawg to vet for The Big Sleep. So yep, on my list. Agree rocket does seem a bit random.
Have to say I don't eat much bacon now as it just seems too salty. Adore Laverstoke Park Farm organic black pudding but as OH doesn't it's really more than I want to eat so using up last from freezer.
Organic bacon does contain either nitrates or celery juice and if it doesn't (Laverstoke Park Farm) when cooked it's a nasty grey colour - although tastes fine.0 -
My wife and I have also gone organic, and mainly use Sainsbury's as they have a wider choice of organic meat. We have also started shopping online using organic farmshops and attending farmers markets, as these are a great source of organic meat and veg.0

These are Israeli peppers! :rotfl: No it was never too difficult for me to eat largely organically living down south. We never had much in my nearest supermarkets but the recession put paid to even that.
Eventually I will have gotten to a large Morrisons and to try Ocado, once I know what I can get from those it will all be clearer what the best course of action is. Luckily I quite like grocery shopping so travelling to a further store is strangely enjoyable!
Not a supermarket but loads of organic frozen produce here

Edwardia: no Yorkshire is not a food desert! My city hits all the indeces of multiple deprivation so people just don't eat much produce let alone organic .... and I don't run a car living in the centre tho there are fantastic public transport links. Delivery is not the ideal solution either tho it would seem it: the traffic flow, major parking restrictions, size of my fridge and budget are an issue. All too often a delivery driver goes back to base without attempting (yes they pretend!) or without achieving delivery. What seems to work best is occasional grocery deliveries plus regular top ups at bricks and mortar stores.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
Ooh Fire Fox those are the frozen organic veggies from Ardo I've been trying to find :j :kisses3: I might even forgive you for eating Israeli peppers
:D I will def have to work out when i can get those delivered.. awesome.
They attempt, they don't deliver.. don't they have GPS ?
I haaaate going food shopping. Maman (er not to be confused with maman on MSE) shalt drag me Saturday though. OH only likes Sainsbos organic teabags so I've been instructed to stock up.
I'm off to play with my website which should be up by end of month.0
