What's your pet hate about comping?

I am worried about identity theft too, so I have two birthdays, a bit like the queen. One is my real birthday and the other is my comping birthday. If I won a holiday or something and had to show my passport, I would simply say that I must have made a typo.0

Some of the bloggers ask far too much....... like the sponsor on FB, follow them on Twitter and Google+, like me on FB, follow me on Twitter, Google+, Instagram, Blogloving, Pininterest, Networked blogs, email AND THEN comment, pin the comp, share the comp, tweet the comp, G+ the comp, share 5/10 of my recipes (which will prob get us sent to Twitter Gail!) AND give me a Klout (OH YES AND I'M READY TO GIVE THEM A FLAMING KLOUT BY THIS STAGE!) !!!!! And to make matters worse - if it is a Rafflecopter, we are required to tweet , share, google+, pin all over again and everyday for another month!
Ok if they are giving away an X-Box or iPad fair enough, but to do all this for a £5 Amazon voucher or similar, it is so not worth it!
I'm not saying this is true of all bloggers (many are fab) but there are some that ask us to jump through hoops!:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0 -
to please, if you remember (I know it's easy to forget if you're already logged in), to put (log in/reg) either in the thread title or near the top of the post itself.
I'm finding a lot of 'registration required' links and I know there are a number of compers who don't bother with these, much like there are a number who don't bother with FB/TW.
Thanks0 -
my latest peeve are ones to win a smartphone where you need smartphones to enter - I won't have one until I win one - or Santa gets me one (highly unlikely)proud gran to 4 lovely boys and one little girl0

This thread made me smile, so I think I might start posting again (decided not to a while back because of the comper arguments).
A pet peeve of mine, but one I totally understand due to the male/female comper ratio, is when I see comps for £1,000 of clothes with a store I've never heard of, and I enter, to only find out it's all women's clothes! A related one is where I almost entered a competition to win an 'unforgettable (remember that word) night in London' where I would be able to choose a dress of my choice to wear before being whisked away to a nightclub.
Yep, I'm pretty sure that night would be unforgettable if I was spotted out on the town in drag.
Also, the like and share posts on Facebook. Hate them. I use my actual Facebook for them, so really don't want to bombard my friends. Some comps actually force you to share to accept your entry even if it's not a like and share one. I get round that by changing the visibility of it to 'only me'. Probably won't win that way, but hey, it makes me feel better!Wins of 2014: *zip*

I really dislike the voting competitions where you have to bother your friends to vote for you.
Also the ITV competitions where you can enter more than once, I don't understand why it is necessary.
Finally, photo competitions where they want you to upload a photo of you in that location. e.g. show us your best snap from Thailand to win a holiday to Thailand. What about the poor folk who haven't had the chance to go there but would really appreciate it!My new year's comping resolution is to spend more time entering the 'Effort competitions' properly!
Thank you everyone who posts comps and participates in the Forums :T0 -
Its bound to have been mentioned already but comps that have required fields that are not marked as required ( usually DoB ).0

Latest one getting to me is one of the magazine's advent competitions.
It's fine while that day's prize can be entered on the website, but when it's being provided by another company and you have to click on the link on the magazine's FB page to reach the form- only to get a security message from your computer saying there are problems with the other site.
Then when it's supposedly fixed, or fine in another browser, you find it makes no difference, you still get the security message warning in whichever browser you use!!! :mad:0 -
I defo think the captchas are getting worse!!!! I love the ones where it says eg
? + 5 = 10
or click on the picture of the duck
or what is the colour of grass?
Some captchas are impossible to read!:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0 -
Why do most users who post a comp without the end date sit for ages with their comp's page open (seen via the user profile)
Honestly, they all do it. Has anyone else noticed? Then the majority of them then ignore the helpful posts about how to edit and then beggar off ... drives me mad ...
