What's your pet hate about comping?

2) FB vote for me comps; they bring out the worst in people. "I'd like to win this bottle of shower gel because my house has fallen down, I'm an orphan and my gerbil's just died." It's like the Monty Python Yorkshiremen sketch, over the most ridiculously small prizes.
.
Poop, I never thought of this one to win a bar of soap. You don't mind if I pinch it for next time do ya??? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Seriously though, how come daft sympathy stories like this get the most votes? AND have you ever noticed that somebody will reply with "aaaawwww sorry to hear that - sending ((hugs))" lolBEST EVER WINS WON IN ORDER (so far) = Sony Camcorder, 32" lcd telly, micro ipod hifi, Ipod Nano, Playstation 3, Andrex Jackpup, Holiday to USA, nintendo wii, Liverpool vs Everton tickets, £250 Reward Your thirst, £500 Pepsi, p&o rotterdam trip, perfume hamper, Dr Who stamp set, steam cleaner.

New one today:
People who are Admin of a group on facebook (comping ones) and think they are God and everyone has to obey their rules otherwise they'll be in BIG trouble!
Remind me, when was comping supposed to be like this??
I don't know if we are thinking along the same lines, but there is a group on their who have a set of rules where even asking about a comp or a win instantly gets removed and the rules flash up.
There was a lady who kept winning stuff a few months ago, and they kept accussing her of cheating and basically ripped her to shreds. No need for it. I thought it was all supposed to be fun.BEST EVER WINS WON IN ORDER (so far) = Sony Camcorder, 32" lcd telly, micro ipod hifi, Ipod Nano, Playstation 3, Andrex Jackpup, Holiday to USA, nintendo wii, Liverpool vs Everton tickets, £250 Reward Your thirst, £500 Pepsi, p&o rotterdam trip, perfume hamper, Dr Who stamp set, steam cleaner.

Sorry for any repeats but mine would be :
>>Like & shares, i do a few but only if i really want it.
>>I have to agree with the Heart fm, i crack up.." trust fill in your details to be put into a random drawer for a lifetime supply of Heinz Baked Beans".... " oh i would love to tin this prize i been in hospital for 18 years and my sons been feeding the cat so this would just make his day as a thank you present," grrrrrrrrrrrrr
The usual emails, wem's missed calls etc etc
Selling prizes, this has always been a bug bare of mine, I KNOW there will always be mixed reviews on this, BUT it just gets my goat everytime,. There are as we all know professional compers as such that put every single item on Ebay and such likes, i know its up to them what to do with it but when they are blatantly entering absolutely everything they possibly can i think it makes a mockery of the companies and other compers. From Horse feed to decorating equipment, cat food to Mens xxl clothes!!... they aint fat they have no animals and they aint a bleedin decorator lol.....
And my other is more towards some others that comps, the ones that seem to forget they have a family! Moaning about their kids doing their head in and yet when you look at their facebooks they have spent the last 12 hours non stop liking n sharing.... They get into a state of panic, every win has to come to an amount of money and beating the person that posts beneath them lol.. I love it when i get an hour here and there, but i work, i have a family, it fits around my life , my life is not fitting around comping2025 Wins ::

I hate these, I feel really bad even trying to compete with some of the stories that you read, but then who's to say how true they are? I normally don't bother.People bumping threads just to say watch out for the tickboxes.
If the comp has just been posted, fair enough, but I've seen comps bumped by weeks a day or two before
they end when 500+ people have already entered, madness.
Another one is when a brand new member posts a comp with the header totally wrong and immediately someone nips in and posts the link for them without requesting that they get the title correct. By the time someone does ask them to do it it's further down the thread and 9 times out of 10 the poster never comes back so it gets moved to Game Over unless the BG corrects it, and they have enough on without that as well.Luck is believing you’re lucky – Tennessee Williams

It's not really a pet hate, or about comping in general, it's more specific to here, but I thought I'd better get something reasonably constructive written on this thread, because, well, that's so me.
What irks me is the rules, the guidelines, the unwritten rules, the unwritten guidelines, the regular rules and guidelines, the newbie rules and guidelines and how there is no clarification as to which set one should be following at any given time.
Another musing, I noticed in Velvet Glove's comping guide (I think it's hers, it's the one with piccies!) that there were 4 BG's Without being disrespectful at all to dalkirst, divadee and Glad, there was that slight confusing issue a week or so ago about who to message for dupes, I was wondering whether there would be a need for an extra one? It's prolly best if I could get BG's feedback on it, I might be way off the mark, but what do they feel with the payload that they're volunteering their time for?
Then again, if they say yes, I can see a massive squabble over who wants to be the 4th.... Anyone got an opener for this can of worms?
Finally, can we just go one day without any bickering or flaming?? That is currently my biggest pet hate right now, for the sheer waste of time and forum space being used. I might even 'try' to cut out my non-funny sarky comments if this happens... no promises thoughGolly, I've got the newt pregnant...

If the poster is new and offline when I spot that the title is incorrect then I've recently taken to PM'ing them and saying that I have done so in the thread. I figured that at least a PM message goes to their email so there's more chance of them reading it, than just asking them to change the title in the thread itself cos they rarely re-appear.0 -
I hate those sites where the background is black and the text is almost as dark so you have to almost touch your nose on the computer screen to read or fill in any details. The Designer Desirables site is one example!:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0
