What's your pet hate about comping?

Two words - instant win.
I. Never. Win. It's infuriating.
Except today I did win a Maom bag so maybe this marks a turn around for me (Dorset Cereal, here I come!)0 -
Well apart from a good few already mentioned, especially those dreadful words "Liked and Shared" (think FB should ban these two words), my pet hates are:
1. My FB wall being full of "like and shared" pics. (I have found a way round this though which does not involve another FB account) I have simply unsubscribed to all my comping friends (sorry) however I have all my friends now in lists ie school, family, work, competitions etc. This means if I do want to see comping posts I just click on "competitions" under favourites and voila, shows all my comping friends posts.
2. Twitter retweet competitions. Never know if it is one RT or multi. Also hate when people use Autotweet.
3. FB mentality? Yes FB comps bring out the worst in people. I get mega peed off at some of the horrible stupid ignorant comments that people like to write when they don't win.
4. Still on FB. The fact that majority of companies think we are all sat glued to our FB walls 24/7 (yes I do realise some people probably are) but do they not realise some of us do work?
5. When you get an email from a company you have never heard of, you try to unsubscribe and the unsubscribe link doesn't work (happens quite often) or even tells you you need to log in to change your preferences. When you try and log in you cannot, so maybe need password reminder. Click "forgot password" and it tells you it cannot find your email address in database  Grrrr well why the hell are you sending me emails then?
6. Cheats and cheating. Plain and simple cannot abide the cheating and dishonesty that goes on in the comping world.
7. Those magazine daily comps. Hate them, done them once, never again. Hate the way the "dailes" forum on MSE is 95% these mag comps. The best things in life are free.....0 -
Most of my pet hates have already been mentioned, but a couple of others:
Getting actual paper junk mail - I can cope with email junk, but despite always opting out when possible, I seem to get almost weekly catalogues and brochures from companies like P & O.
When a holiday prize doesn't include flights - flights are part of a holiday! They should call them hotel prizes rather than holiday prizes.0 -

But when you look at their profile you realise that they have been a member for the last few years!
I'm afraid I fall into both of those categories! I won a large comp as my second win. I have been on MSE for some time... But I only started comping last month. Remember there are other reasons to be on the MSE site other than comping!
I think we should just be happy for people who win!
My pet hate is dalies tick boxes! Very irritating!

My hates:
1) People who think they are entitled to win just because they've entered!
2) People who enter for the sake of it, not because they want or need it, or know someone who does (I'll wait for the backlash)
3) People on Facebook using multiple accounts or voting groups
4) People who accuse anyone & everyone for cheating
5) People who don't listen when you inform them that a page is fake on Facebook, which is so easily proven, and carry on "liking & sharing" - gullible!
6) Greedy people
Probably a few more other things but I don't want to be moaned aboutThanks to all posters :A0 -
I thought of something else, specific to MSE I s'pose ...
People who bother to register having found a comp, but they launch straight in, post it randomly without following the guidelines and then disappear never to be seen again.
I often think it would be easier if a regular could just go ahead and edit the title of the post and add in links instead of people waiting on the OP to do it, cos some of 'em never do.
(I dislike this mainly because it makes the board look untidy!)

I don't normally post, but I am totally hacked off having to chase prizes.
I have had to chase 6 in the past 5 days, mainly from large companies, but the best one was today, when I was told that a comp in a Magazine daily (which I diligently entered every day) never existed!
Rant over and it feels good letting it outTo err is human, but to really mess things up you need a computer.0
