    Hello all,

Feeling much more positive now. Had a long chat with DH, don't know how much of it went in (as usual), but at least I got my point across. I just let him know that I need him to be nicer to the boy when I'm overwhelmed, not blame him for it!

I've decided to sort out some fun things to do this week for him. Trips to the park each day, a quick run around a field with his friends etc. I think some of the problem is him not burning enough energy or getting a change of scene, so we'll make more use of the sunshine and cut grass. Chasing a few squirrels should tire him out a bit.

We had two friends over last night, so now the sitting room looks a little worse for wear. Empty beer bottles and the smell of pizza (icky), so I'm going to sort it now and then jump in the shower. Promise to myself - today will be about fun with my DH and DS, not stress and frustration!

Good luck to all you flybabies out there and really well done on all the sheds -may they stay spider-free and clutterless.

morning everyone and welcome to all newbies :)

I have been trying to do all the lists here for while but don't always succeed but know that as this mess did not appear in a day then it ain's going to disappear in a day either! Babysteps are the key as I was told when I first came here.

I don't post that often on this thread but do feel part of the team :) Our house was (and to the untrained eye :p ) is still a tip BUT one that is gradually getting cleared. My DH died last year and a couple of months prior we had decided that we would get this place sorted and made a start. Well since June until the start of this year I couldn't be bothered (everything seemed so pointless). But now I want to get it tidy and not suffer from CHAOS syndrome. So what with trying to get shipshape I have also moved DS and DD round bedroom wise this last couple of weeks (which was on the list for last summer).

As for the supermum feeling I can relate to what others have said even more so since last summer. But the main thing I think to to make sure your children know that you love them and are there for them no matter what. We all do the best job that we can and I bet if you ask them they will all say we are the best mums/dads in the world :)

Just my two penneth, hope you all have a great day whatever you decide to do and remember the housework will still be there another day so don't worry if you want to enjoy the sun, play with the kids, chill.

    Ooops long ramble!

My eldest daughter is 26 now. I feel like a rubbish mum but she told me a couple of weeks ago that she thinks they all had a really good upbringing. I still don't believe her but it was nice to hear.

Anyway, two loads of washing done and on the line (one of clothes and one of the throws from the living room).

Planted three grasses (red sedge, yellow sedge, blue fescue) in a tiny border alongside the shed. It's where the honeysuckle used to be until I had to hack it off the old shed. That has rooted further along so we still have honeysuckle but were left with a narrow border about 4ft wide. I dug it out well and DH managed to get out the root from the honeysuckle. I was a bit nervous digging because I know there's a cat buried somewhere near there, but it must be under the clematis because I didn't find any bones!

These things have to be taken into account when you've always had pets....

My sister brought her new man round last night.. and I didn't want to die of shame at the state of the house!!!

WOOHOO!!!!! I have not got CHAOS this week!!!!!

The house has survived the easter break.. probably never looked so good in fact and I had people over and didn't want to blindfold them as they came in the door!!

I just wanted to thank everyone for kicking me when I slack off, making me move and giving me the motivation to actually try to make a difference in the house.

    THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!

The children are back at school tomorrow/Tuesday and hubby is back at work tomorrow too so it should be relatively easy for me to keep astride the tidying providing I don't let it get too bad again.

I need the kitchen to be up tomorrow!! it is probably the worst place in the house at the moment.. that and my room. Today I am going to bounce on the bouncy castle and do nothing!!

happyathome thank you, it's the thought that counts, it's just been a rotten shame for the boys more than anything as I feel guilty for being ill all week not being able to take them anywhere, but I'll be honest they seem happy enough so maybe it's only me who is bothered, I think a lot of us Mam's are guilty of that one, feeling guilty about things when the kids really aren't that bothered about it. They've been happy playing in the sand pit most of the time, saying that they are getting a little sick of the sight of each other now and Tuesday when they return to school I think they are both looking forward to.

Pigpen ok we'll start with the kitchen tomorrow, you have your wish, but only because you've done a great job, proud of you :)

AnW'sMum don't worry I know you're still around, make sure of that as I check other threads, you're doing grand job and so very brave, I really admire you, don't forget if it gets too much we're all here.

Pollybear I am sure she wouldn't have said it if she didn't mean it. Don't be so harsh on yourself, I am sure you are a fab Mam

One who is worrying me is Moggins, wonder if it's just PC issues, anyone heard from her ?

Shirley what have you been told about playing catch up ! It's Monday tomorrow so don't stress too much if you don't get it all done :) of course I do wish you the best of luck doing it all

Right, housework, need to vacuum then apart from dinner etc later dailies stuffs done. Dogs going for a long walk hopefully, squeak at them where needed. DP is out doing his stepdads garage, to be fair it's his and his brothers stuff cluttering it, but he's said as I need to go shopping drop the youngest off there while I go to the shop so one less to look after in silence. Sign language in shops isn't appealing at all but not leaving house to go shopping running short of a few things :o Oh and I want more icecream, medicinal purposes of course.

More of sock mountain will be climbed, later, think if I do 15 mins while boys are settling to bed each night, not that DS1 goes to sleep but you know what I mean, then it'll be a little mountain instead of Everest in no time. Oh and big mistake I left some washing up last night, ok I'll be honest I just couldn't be ar*ed to do it, but boy did I regret it this morning, aswell as was awful to come down to, was out of hot water! Argh!

    Just checking in.

When we woke this morning i said to DH what do we really have to achieve today, and we came up with:
    • finish sorting the pantry floor
    • lower Charlie's cot as i was getting paranoid he'd sit up one night then fall out.
    • hoover round downstairs so it is safe to put him on the floor to play
next thing i knew, DH started it, then did all of it for me. :T RESULT!!

we also cleaned and mopped the porch floor while we had the mop bucket out as it is literally 1msquare, so all urgent chores are done, so we can now chill out for the day, and just get the dailies finished off. :D

DH is now sat with baby watching the Grand prix - i have done one load of washing and got it out on the line, and we are going to have our big meal early so all heavy duty washing up etc, can be done, and we can have a day of recuperation.

    Where is April disappearing to?

pigpen you go girl. It is essential to do a little bit of something each day or you will end up back where you started and there is no point in that.

lil-me hope you start feeling better soon. It has dragged on ages hasn't it.

pollybear that garden is sounding good

AnW'smum keep up the baby steps and check in from time to time. Isn't it fab to scratch some long term jobs off the list, and i bet it took less time than you thought. ;)

Hugs all round. Looking forward to the new week. Kitchens it is then, and that will be good as the pantry looking so fab already is great motivation.

Good afternoon Michelle, you lucky devil! Thanks, yes it's dragging on, wish it'd just naff off, marching back to the GPs next week if these tablets don't work soon! I think you need to share your lovely DH out, we could all do with someone who does that!

Must agree with Michelle on the where is April going, this year in general, I have another TMA due in on the 9th of May so MUST start studying daily when the boys go back to school. Good bit is we're on holiday mid June so quicker that's here the better, now I've got the money saved up for it thanks to the £600 I managed to save in the £2 coin tin. Only Blackpool but if the weather stays like this I am happy :D

Dailies finished, best get my hair done etc, I think I must look like that Meddusa or whatever she's called with the snakes coming out of her head at the mo, then go up to DPs brothers where he's working on the garage and drop little guy off so I can get shopping done, forgot it's Sunday so shorter opening hours!
