Well, that's my tarot money been paid for last week :j
Its not a lot but its so nice to see it appear in my account on a wednesday again. I need to keep it up. Seems silly to have the opportunity and not use it, its extra money after all!

I have various layers on today in a bid to keep warm. But my suit trousers keep sticking to my tights. Any ideas to stop this happening? Still keeping an eye on the pennies and should come in under budget for the end of the week. I have a £50 emergency fund set aside which I can use if I need it but only till friday evening to go (I get paid on friday afternoon but don't use that until after work on friday i.e. say if I wanted to get a takeaway etc but the week's travelling comes from last week's wage).

Morning All, hope someone is listening. I hate talking to myself:o.

Well SS's car is playing up, the washers to be precise. OH and I went to try and fix it when we got home last night (7:30) Checked screen wash levels, checked pipes, fuse, and then manually tested the pump (as motor is sounding) and yep its the pump. Any words of gratitude from SS? Nope, he's been in a foul mood the last few days. He's now in a worse mood as his car needs fixed. He's not getting the fact that parts wear out and need replaced no matter whether its a new or old car. There's no telling him. I also don't think he's bothered keeping on the AA membership I bought him last year. ....Not my problem. If he needs it he'll be told to phone up and pay to renew it.

OH is freaking out about christmas (the cost of), he has to buy something for me (a surprise as the rest of the things he's got me I know about), a tv for SS (his son, but told him since SS is 21 he'll understand about not getting it till after christmas and get it in the sales as he wants a 42" flat screen tv), something for his sis and BIL but I've explained I've already bought them something and why does he need to buy more? Something for my Dad and my Gran, told him he doesn't need to spend a fortune (he's already bought my Mum a jumper which thanks to me we got for 25% off and then another £2.50 off in nectar points).
He's also wondering whether to buy anything for SD (his daughter) and her lot, I asked why he's bothering? He didn't buy anything for birthday. She's not been in touch for 18 months apart from sarky comments left on fb. She's never asked after any of us (she still sees her brother and is alway getting him to spend money on her), when she does turn up at my SIL she's alway rude (always turns up uninvited and unannounced). From what we've seen she's not changed one little bit and I doubt she will (she's the kind of person that says nasty things about an old lady that had recently passed away and about an older relative who was expecting a baby, saying expecting a baby at 43 was 'sick' and she hoped it was handicapped. Nice girl eh? Thankfully the relative had her baby and he's gorgeous and healthy). So i really don't know why OH is bothering, she caused no end of mayhem and one of two things will happen if he buys her something 1) it will get binned, destroyed or sold (to buy cigs, booze etc) or 2) she'll think she's welcome to come back into our lives and cause utter carnage again. I have a lot of anger against her for everything she's done and said, a lot of it can never be excused.

Sorry if thats a bit heavy just needed a vent this morning.

  • I'm listening!! :)

SS will learn the hard way ;) Just let him huff in peace!!

For one, your OH does not need to be spending a fortune. It's the thought behind presents, rather than the price tag, is what should be important. Remind him of that please!!
If he feels he wants to get everyone and their dog a present, then I guess that's up to him. But so long as he's doing it for the right reasons. If it's only for the sake of it and just coz it's Christmas, I'd tell him to catch himself on :)

    But that's just me ;)

Very tired today. Went to shop across from work to get someone a leaving card (got asked to) still waiting on the money back. Grrrr. I did pick up a mini music quiz for OH (yes I know I said i wasn't buying him anything else but not seen anything like this. Its a small box (say ring box size) with 60 music questions in it and was only £2.29. Cheap for that shop, everything else is a fortune!

Morning All, well I had £20ish left last night to do me until I get paid later today. OH decides he doesn't fancy a baked potato so wants a curry . We get there and he says I've got no money, can you lend me £20. I say no I've only got £20 and I need £10 of that for travel alone tomorrow. So he says if I lend him the £20 I can take his bank card and take £50 out in the morning as he gets paid first thing (He owed me £5 for tobacco as I've told him he's a mug for paying out for cigarettes, £4 for the christmas chocolate he munched.... yes I made him pay for it! £20 he was borrowing and he'd give me £21 towards fuel etc). So I said ok, and gave him the £20. He then saunters back out of the takeaway 2 mins later and says he needs another £2 as he's ordered a portion of chicken tikka!:mad::mad:
I was furious! Said to him "what did I just say"? "I've got no more money on me"! Cue him looking sheepish and me fishing around in the glovebox as I keep some change there. Thankfully I had enough. After all that the tikka was disgusting! The meal was nice but I wasn't happy with him.

Well I get paid today and I've worked out what I need to transfer away for bills. I think I transfer it out to my ISA (instant access) as its still early in the month as its abetter rate of interest and transfer it back to my current account when I need it (end of dec). I'm slowly getting to grips with weekly pay. Before this I think the last time I'd been weekly pay was when I was 18!

I need to get a move on with wrapping present and doing christmas cards. Was hoping to meet up with one of my friends but she's got too many family commitments each weekend till christmas.

Another friend who's recently retired has gone in the huff slightly as she wants to come and see us during the week. Explained we're not home till about 7:30 and by time we eat and get ourselves sorted for the next day its after 8 and we're in bed for about 9:30ish as we're so shattered. She isn't local so popping in for half an hour isn't feasible. Suggested time nearer christmas.

Finished the pink scarf for my other friend but I've knitted according to woman in wool shops instructions and its really short. So going to try and find a big button (any idea anyone of anything else I could use?) and turn it into a neck warmer. Need to arrange something with her to meet up.

    How is everyone?

Right, not pleased with myself. I've just wasted £2.85. I have a sandwich with me but when I saw that the canteen had macaroni cheese on today I thought I fancy that. So I braved the cold (canteen in a different building, only a coffee shop here and the only hot thing they serve is soup), went and got my macaroni and cheese (and chips :o) and brought it back.

    1) It wasn't anything special.... I'm a connisuer (sp?) of macaroni and this was ok.
    2) I am now soooo full I feel slightly sick.

No sign of wages so I can't do anymore money stuff till that appears.

  • Well, all I can say is 'blah' to your OH :p They just don't think sometimes!!!!

Hate when you see something for lunch/dinner/treat that you really fancy, then you're disappointed :( Bugs me!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrr

And eating so much that you feel sick is not good!! :p

Gonna have an apple and cinnamon scone now :D Was meant to have it at 'tea' time but boss appeared and she'd brought choc biccies so we had those instead!! lol :)

ooohh not seen apple and cinnamon scones before, they sound nice. I got a cherry pie (big one) in Mr M last night for 35p so need to portion it up and freeze it.

Wages are in! :j. Put about 2/3 away for bills at the end of this month but I have put it into my ISA (will transfer it back in plenty of time), it'll give me a bit more interest which I get paid monthly and directly transferred to my current account to go straight to debt. Paid £20 to Beast but this is to go towards stuff I've bought, which includes tickets at the imax to see Hobbit. Bought a ticket so that SS could come with OH, me and OH's nephew and after me buying the ticket he says he's made other plans!. So not sure who to invite as if I invite one of my friends then OH's nephew (mid 20s) will think its a set up (he's single) and only my single friends would come along without their other halves.

The rest of the money I've kept back I'm going to be careful with as I have my MOT tomorrow so hopefully that will go ok. Please keep your fingers crossed! Going to empty my 20p bank tonight/tomorrow and see how much is in it. Still feel very full after that macaroni. I really shouldn't have had it. :(
