Hi All,
I am a 24yr old single parent to two children (2 and 4). I have just found out I am pregnant again after getting carried away with my children's father when I went round to his one day to discuss formalising custody arrangements. He is very much part of my kids lifes and is a great support to me. I think I could cope with looking after 3 children but don't know if I could afford it
I work full time earning £28,090 per annum (set to rise to £29,600 in April 2013) My childcare bill are present is £235 per week and this is with Dad doing 1 day and my daughter going to after school club. I estimated the childcare to be £425 per week when little one is here.
A few questions,
1.) is the maximum childcare (CTC) I can claim £300 for 3 children?
2.) do you think it is possible to work full time with three children under 5?
xxxx

Is this the same partner who was terminally ill with testicular cancer?0

Yes, the maximum is £300 a week, though there's no guarantee you will get that much.

Does your company offer a salary sacrifice scheme for childcare vouchers? That could help with costs.
And yes, you can do this and you will. No-one is saying it will be easy but you can do it. You are already doing fantastically well to be earning that kind of money at your age. My brother is in his forties with a PhD and still doesn't earn that much.
Just as a matter of interest why will the childcare costs almost double for one extra child?0 -

Hmm71 this may be because a baby will need a childminder i.e, full time care whereas op's daughter will (i'm guessing) only require after school care, there's a vast difference pricewise, hth.Littlewoods £10 Very BNPL £234.42

Is there no chance of a reconciliation? You have 2 young children and now another on the way, you obviously haven't been apart that long and still have some sort of feelings? Maybe try relate? Sorry I know this isn't what you asked but I have been a single Mum for 12 years now and it is a very hard path, one that I wouldn't wish on anybody. You are so young and the grass isn't always greener. Just might be worth considering! Good luck :-) xxx0

The OP was 24 two years ago so not sure this post is genuine. If it is then hopefully tax credits will look very closely at the claim as having another child with your ex partner should raise alarm bells. The chances of getting pregnant if only having sex once are very remote.0

but it only takes once to get pregnant, its not like you have to collect 6 coupons for a better chance lol

The OP appears to be an Internet Troll:

Two years and two months later and you are 24 again eh?
You just had a 2 year old daughter in August 2010 and now you've got another 2 year old....were you about to drop at the time? You didn't mention this in your previous posts back then....now you are pregnant again....
Perhaps they have found the Elixir of Eternal Life....unfortunately it has side effects of causing ultra-fertility!British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -

I thought I was the only one to have noticed the discrepancies.
Mind you, it's good to know that the OP's ex (?) has recovered from his terminal testicular cancer with his fertility intact!0 -

No, but it would be a great idea if you had to! :rotfl:"There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0
