Unless i'm missing something, this report suggests 333 people died in police custody between 99 and 09.

    You are. :D

    From the IPC website

    The report found that:
    • in total, 5,998 deaths were recorded for the 11 years from 2000 to 2010. This is an average of 545 deaths per year. Of these deaths, 72% (N=4,291) were of males and 28% (N=1,676) were of females

The "6,000" deaths in custody is in fact 6,000 deaths in the custody of the state, so it includes prisoners and people detained under the mental health act.
    So that makes more sense.

Funny how you failed to mention the part of the report where it said that 66% died of natural causes. But lets not let the truth get in the way of a very poor and biased rant.

So we can take out 222 of those, thats 111 deaths. Or just over 11 deaths per year, rather than the posted 600 per year .

I wonder what the number would be if you looked at those that probably deserved it *ducks for cover*

Biased and ranting? A cheap insult that tries to give the impression that anyone holding a different view from you is some sort of raving lunatic. Well done, you're a credit to the human race.:T

    And the other 34%?
You've completely ignored the fact that the number is NOT 6,000 as you claimed. As proven by your own link that you've either skim read or just misinterpreted. If you're going to get really angry about something, it's best you research it thoroughly so you know exactly what you're getting angry about.

So are you angry about the 330 people who died in police custody or after police contact, or are you angry about the 5,600 who die in prisons, mental health institutions and immigration detention centres?

    Any comment?

I'm not angry about anything and you're right I didn't read the report, I posted the links so people could read it for themselves. It was a top hit for Deaths in police custody on Google.

My point was simply that more than 2 people have died in police custody and where was the respect for them.

It keeps the debate alive and interesting.

I got stopped in a car I had bought only days before, when I got out my GF said it was obvious they were expecting someone else. They said my brakelights had not come on at the roundabout, I said would you like to check them now with the engine off, they were working last night? They worked, I said maybe a loose connection I will get it checked, they waved me off.

I wonder who they were expecting to be in the car.
No loose connection, and I honestly couldn't remember whether I used the brakes at the roundabout because it doesn't have great visiblity to the right I do tend to use the gears to slow down coming up to it.
Watching Traffic Cops etc its not an uncommon occurrence. Car has a drugs marker, RK carries weapons etc...
