We all made mistakes at the end of the day, I'm 18, you guys, what 40+? get a grip of your lives instead of spending your life on message boards trying to wind people up.

Yeah! You tell those old fogeys... :money:

Good point. Yes whatever happens, happens, what I said yesterday about making things up regarding someone eles driving the car was said in the heat of the moment. It's too much of a risk to even say this, If found out, i'm sure it would be a bigger fine and even 6 points.

I was thinking, if the worse happens, and I get fine and 3 points, I include in the return letter, something down of the lines of.. I am deeply sorry for what I've done, would it possible If I could pay the fine and possibly pay for a speed awareness course instead of getting the three points?
If you're eligible for a course they'll offer it to you, if not they won't.

I got caught a few times for various things when I was younger (I'm ancient at 31 now!). Don't think I'm trying to wind you up, this is how I've seen things a few times.

The bottom line I've always worked to is if you can't do the time, don't do the crime.

    Learn from your mistakes.
Don't worry about the maybes, if you get a ticket, you do, but there's no point panicking just yet.

If you take the ticket, 3 points and £60 won't make a huge jump on next year's premium, especcially as you'll be haoping to have 1 year NCB to counter against it.

Going to court's a gamble. Unless you're sure you're going to win, a ticket's generally the lesser evil. I went to court for a 3 point £60 speeding ticket. Came out with 6 points and £350 lighter.

As far as the Shaggy Defence (It wasn't me) goes, it ain't going to work unless you can tell them who it was. So far it's a traffic mattter. As said above, lying in this case is called perjury or pervertting the course of justice, which are criminal offences. If you don't like a £60 fine, you'll definately not be a fan of what you get for either of those.

And a quick tip for not getting caught. There's a lot of unmarked police cars about. Assume the car behind you is one and drive accordingly.

Relax and think about what you're doing behind the wheel, and avoid trouble as far as you can. Boy racer behind you wants to go faster than you. Pull over and let them. As you get older, you learn to let stuff bother you a lot less. If you don't, you either get old too early from the stress, or don't get the chance to get old.
Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?
Get jobs in offices and wake up for the morning commute?

I laid out the procedure for the OP yesterday. It applies equally to speeding offences as it does for a red light offence.

OP - have you had a NIP?

If you haven't, why don't you stop trying to get yourself a perverting the course of justice charge and wait to see if you do get a NIP?

You have a thread on Pepipoo where you'll be well advised if you do get a NIP, so why persist? Are you here on a wind-up?
