TrickyWicky - this thread may turn up on someone's google search, so the helpful posters on here are providing useful information for them.

As for the OP. Troll Troll Troll Troll

I'm very much reminded of the poster who stole his sister's car while she was on holiday, crashed it, then looked for a way out - lying about how it happened, then blaming the family for his behaviour.
  • Just a message for those who's obviously enjoying their time having a go at me and acting like complete ****. Carrying on wasting your time because I'm not even reading the whole of your posts, so it is YOU who is wasting your time.

We all made mistakes at the end of the day, I'm 18, you guys, what 40+? get a grip of your lives instead of spending your life on message boards trying to wind people up.

I have no time for idiots like you, as I said, I made a mistake, I'm trying to look for a way of getting out of it, mainly because I've just passed and I can't afford to have 3 points on my licence.

Yes, that means I would lie to get out of it. Who wouldn't? Maybe not in this situation, but perhaps at work and you could lose your job, with this tough economical climate wouldn't you do everything to keep your job which would include lieing?

Do not wind me up in my post. If you not going to post anything constructive, then do one, im ignoring you.

Thanks to all those who's ACTUALLY posted something constructive.

That's precisely why new drivers have such restrictions on their licenses, and why their insurance premiums are so high. They're a greater risk. Not just from incident, either, it would appear, but from the truth...

I suspect plenty of people - if for no other reason than so may feel 3 points and 60 quid isn't worth the potential risk of perjury or perverting the course of justice - and worth mentioning, whilst probably not disclosing your true name, you are posting all of this in a public forum.

There are others who simply wouldn't because they've got some degree of moral decorum - and as a generalism, honesty does tend to be the best policy. Nothing is more likely to get you bounced from your job than being a proven having lied about something reasonably significant.

Good point. Yes whatever happens, happens, what I said yesterday about making things up regarding someone eles driving the car was said in the heat of the moment. It's too much of a risk to even say this, If found out, i'm sure it would be a bigger fine and even 6 points.

I was thinking, if the worse happens, and I get fine and 3 points, I include in the return letter, something down of the lines of.. I am deeply sorry for what I've done, would it possible If I could pay the fine and possibly pay for a speed awareness course instead of getting the three points?

You've also got to remember that if you were to get to a court case because you were found to be making up excuses (and six points would be the least of your problems then), the fact that you've posted them on a public discussion forum for review might also be brought up.

If I were you I'd just take in what the others have said - you made a mistake, you might get a fine and some points, and just take it as a warning to settle down. Some new drivers need something like this to calm them down, some get by, and some get calmed down in an altogether more permanent way sadly. We all know about the heat of the moment, just so long as you learn from it. Writing back full on contrition can't do any harm, just don't assume anything. Throwing yourself on the mercy of the authorities is all well and good until you get into part of an automated system, but no-one here can say what will or won't happen.

Please come back and update the thread when you hear more, or if you don't.

Offer to pay for both the red light course and the the speed awareness course, they'll probably give you a discount.
Sort of BOG OFF type of arrangement.

If they do you would advised to

I think I'll send a copy of your thread to the West Midlands Camera Enforcement.

    It'll give them a laugh.

Perjury isn't the way, unless you want to convert your 3 points into 3 years in jail.

    It certainly wouldn't hurt!

I'm done with this op. I've given them tons of honest decent advice and much of it was ignored and made quite clear it was being ignored when they said "I honestly think this could work" about lying to the fuzz.
