Got flashed going through a red light. Please help

If you're going to try the excuses trick or it wasn't you driving, this means you need to have your day in court in front of the magistrates, who frankly have heard every excuse and then some.
Your story would need to check out also and I think the excuse of it was someone on a test drive would be weak, especially when they ask for the name of the driver. It would seem kind of wierd that you didn't retain the name of the person who drove your car through the lights and got flashed would it not?
I would wait and see if anything turns up in the post. Then you need to decide what you're going to do. But discussing the incident on a public forum, saying the location of the incident and then asking for debate on what fabricated story sounds best has the potential to land you in a lot of bother.0 -
Au contraire - I've been followed, closely, by the archetype known only as "boy racer"s for quite some time - many of them are completely useless at that actual driving thing, just think they are good.A "boy racer" would not be behind you for a while
Overtaking a car in front, is often a very good means of putting some distance between you and them, because, in my experience at least, some of those I've encountered are completely useless behind the wheel of a car. Just think they are Mike-al-Shoo-mack-er.0 -

You do realise that the police can look into that don't you? Sim cards all have a unique ID similar to the IMEI number your phone has. The phone you use to activate it will be recorded by the mobile network along with the GPS location.TrueUnitedFan wrote: »Nope just thought of it at the top of my head. It could work, I really believe so.
I think you're a troll to be quite frank. You must have read what I've said to you. Do you seriously think that you, an inexperienced_in_life 18 year old can out smart a police force? Do you realise that the camera enforcement departments in each police force can also investigate things as normal officers would? They are part of a police force. That means that they can investigate, check logs, cameras, etc. The first thing they'll do is check nearby CCTV cameras for your car to see who was driving. You may well be an 18 year old who thinks he's got all of the answers but the cops have all been there and they're smarter than you. Trust me, a few of us have been 18 and had our run-ins with them.
Your idea is pathetic and a waste of your own time and life. If you go down for 2 years don't say I didn't warn you. You are a danger and a menace on the road. You started this thread asking not to be flamed and with each one of your additional posts you're posting more stuff to incriminate yourself. Oh you might do well to remember that you posted an admission of wrong doing in your opening post. I'm sure thats probably been picked up somewhere already.TrueUnitedFan wrote: »I just revisted the route I slowly approached it and I seen no traffic light cameras at the top of the traffic lights. HOWEVER, right in the corner, hiding behind some bushes, there is a yellow speed camera.
Then its a traffic light camera. They don't generally put speed cameras near traffic lights (seriously, how much money would they make? - not much) and traffic light cameras are not fitted to the top of traffic lights as you seem to think. As I said, you may be 18 but that doesn't mean you're right or smarter than the police.TrueUnitedFan wrote: »I'm sure I got flashed, this means if I did get flashed I must of been speeding? I seriously can't remember the speed I was travelling as I past the traffic lights, however the speed was no more than 40 I think and the road before the lights is an 40mph speed zone.
This to me says "I have no idea what speed I was doing, I wasn't watching the speedo and I didn't really care". Funny that, you care now your licence is on the line don't you!TrueUnitedFan wrote: »I was not racing...
Yet you knew the type of car behind you on a dark road which was a boy racer so close to you that he'd of hit you if you braked. That IS racing. Sorry if you can't accept that but thats really how it looks.TrueUnitedFan wrote: »Is there a way to dispute it, if something does come through the post?
No not really unless you fancy a trip to see a judge or use Mr Loophole! These things are highly specialised devices designed to catch cheating rogues like you out.TrueUnitedFan wrote: »Doesn't a speed camera have to be viewable for motorist in order to be legal for use?
Kind of yes. There are supposed to be clear to see cameras however thats not an excuse for you to break a red light or speed. If the camera has caught you then you're still busted. You committed an offence and were caught. The fact that the camera wasn't visible doesn't give you an excuse for doing it.TrueUnitedFan wrote: »Also can those cameras flash you if you go through a red light?
As I said to you further up, it's a red light camera not a speed camera. Red light cameras are not fitted to the top of the traffic lights.
Seriously, you scr*wed up accept it and move on. The more you try to wriggle out of it and waste the polices time, the more you'll regret it WHEN they can prove it was you.0 -
I'm getting a whiff of troll at this point.
Just in case though - don't do it again. If you've just passed and you get six points you'll lose your licence.
Also, you may need to pre-apply the lurpak to your backside when you call to tell your insurance should you get a ticket.
Don't worry about the "did it have film in" They are digital now, they don't have film.
5t.What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0 -

Say I was selling the car, someone came to inquire about it and they showed me their licence and they said they were fully comp or had a trader's policy.. and I'm only 18, recently passed so don't really know the ins and outs of insurance, seemed legit and I let him test drive the car, though I couldn't remember the name I do have his number?
I'd just like to take back my earlier post where I defended this guy.0 -
Before anyone wastes any more time on this OP... look at his previous posts.
