Could this work? Say I was selling the car, someone came to inquire about it and they showed me their licence and they said they were fully comp or had a trader's policy.. and I'm only 18, recently passed so don't really know the ins and outs of insurance, seemed legit and I let him test drive the car, though I couldn't remember the name I do have his number?

    WTH?!
You're willing ti make up this load of b*ll just to avoid a fine and 3 points THAT YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW FOR SURE YOU HAVE YET?

Stupid 'idea' but just out of interest who's number do you intend to use?

I'd go for the Russian Maf ia
You stop, someone pulls you out of the car, (gang of 4, thickset, russian accent, flash of possibly a gun) bundles you in the boot, drives very fast, does a few pick ups, (hint at drugs, but remember, you're in the boot).
Hours later, they stop, but threaten you if you tell anyone.

    That'll see you clear.

Oh I see.. so not only were you in a dark place going too fast to stop (because you were going so fast you couldn't concentrate on the traffic lights) but you managed to identify the type of car behind you that you were not racing, its all your neighbours fault because you willingly gave them a lift and now you're willing to commit an act of perverting the course of justice to avoid your punishment?

Weren't you the one earlier using the phrase "grow up" ?

You really need to get a grip of yourself mate. You're a licenced driver and with that comes responsibility. Part of that responsibility means taking the can when you've disobeyed the rules.

The police see through 18 years olds with excuses like yours every day. Sure, if you want to try it then thats down to you but be warned your intelligence is no match for a police force with thousands of officers who use well developed techniques to catch out liars. When those techniques expose you and you become a resident at one of her majestys establishments, perhaps you'll grow up yourself?

If you think they won't catch you out, just remember that you told us it was dark and you couldn't see the road / traffic lights properly. A few posts later, you reveal that you managed to identify the car make and model behind you (with its headlights beaming at you). Little things like that are clues that you're hiding something and the police will see straight through you.

Seriously mate, get a grip of yourself. IF (and I say IF because it might not even be a red light camera) they send you a NIP, just accept that you've c**ked up and deal with it. No point trying to dodge it, you'll just instigate a police investigation and they WILL rumble you. At that point, you're busted and you'll be sharing a cell with a bloke nick named Butch  (Oh and they can still give you points and a fine for failing to reveal who the driver was - the only difference is its a harsher penalty - more points and a bigger fine).

A "boy racer" would not be behind you for a while

Nope just thought of it at the top of my head. It could work, I really believe so.

I just revisted the route I slowly approached it and I seen no traffic light cameras at the top of the traffic lights. HOWEVER, right in the corner, hiding behind some bushes, there is a yellow speed camera.

    :O

I'm sure I got flashed, this means if I did get flashed I must of been speeding? I seriously can't remember the speed I was travelling as I past the traffic lights, however the speed was no more than 40 I think and the road before the lights is an 40mph speed zone.

    I was not racing...

Is there a way to dispute it, if something does come through the post? Doesn't a speed camera have to be viewable for motorist in order to be legal for use? There's trees with leaves and that hides the camera.

There were no signs also to say there was a camera up ahead..

Also can those cameras flash you if you go through a red light?

Anyone who knows the route/been on it will know right before you get to the lights the long road is 40mph and it briefly goes to 30mph but this doesn't happens way back in the opposite direction of the camera...

You recently passed your test and you want to sell your car so soon?

Whats your registration number and I'll see what price you might get for it?

If you want a number to use would you like to borrow mine?

Hi Own my own, it was not safe to stop because a boy racer in his renault was right behind my !!! and if I had emergency stopped braked he would of went right in the back off me.

Why would you need to emergency stop? If you weren't exceeding the speed limit, the period the amber light on is more than enough to pull up safely.

Were you racing said "boy racer in his renault"?

I didn't want to go through the hassel of trying to convince the insurance company of what would of been an accident yet still have my premiums go up because of an idiot.

So you're calling someone who was driving up your !!!! an idiot.... but you're the one who went through the red light?
