We have one. The down-side is that it's not very matey. If we were choosing again, I think we'd go for 5'.
We have separate duvets. Again not very matey, but we sleep much better. And I get the double duvet, whilst DW gets the single!
Another vote for single duvets here, you can be just as romantic' at times but also get a good sleep, mine is 4 tog and DW is 10.5.I think....0 -
We have contemplated that, the skirtings/architraves are black stained pine so it should match OK, the currnt finish is waxed pine, not sure how to prepare that for staining? Plus I suspect it would quickly get chipped/rubbed off by the DKs so might start to look a bit tatty fairly quickly?
Surely, the bed will out-last the decorations? No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Five feet is a bit unfriendly sometimes too. Particularly as if we are not sleeping in a knot I tend to sleep right on the edge, or bits of me hanging off the edge. That said I think that has come from being used to sleeping too many of us in too small a bed so that the edge feels like freedom.0 -

You.'d use a primer the name of which I have forgotten but it makes the paint stick well. Then you would seal with a varnish. But for your stain you would probably have to very lightly sand then sugar soap.

It's warmer if you share though. And no flash of bare skin in cold air where the join is We have heaps of bedding so that if dh or the kittycat duvet stealers take mine then there is something else to cover up with.0 -

You really want at least one of the duvets to be a double, so you can share without having to worry about a join.
I find that if sharing the duvet, DW wraps it round herself, and there's not much left for me. Then a bit later she wakes up and complains of being too hot.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Advice from nice people wanted please.

Any views on this place, please? I'm seriously thinking of going for a few days. (Without DW, as she refuses.) Or is it just plain crazy? No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Can't see what is crazy about it, if that is what floats your boat. It looks idyllic and tranquil. Are you trying to get the hang of meditating or something you do already?
Mr Bugslet, when he was around, and I have different tastes in breaks and often went away without each other. Can't think why he never wanted to take up bellydancing....:p0
