Quiet, noisy, vehicles, duration of possum visits ( OK, untested), anywhere. I've had insomnia about 5 times in my life - I know, I'm lucky.

Thank heavens I'm not the only one. I've fallen asleep in presentations ( even vaguely interesting ones), four rows from the front during a production of Chicago - the list goes on. I genuinely dread the thought of jury service, I'd be asleep within 15 minutes.

MIL did fall asleep on jury service. Judge announced a break and told the prosecutor to speed things up.

Please omit me from any invites... I don't do the whole group hug thing :)

We have 4' beds in the UK.... and the name completely escapes me at the moment..... must be my age.

Edit: I was thinking of "three quarter". Wiki tells me it's got three names: Queen or small double or three-quarter http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bed_size#UK_and_Ireland_sizes

Bed sizes are confusing. I thought a queen was four foot six, and the 'normal' size for a bed ( but now I think more people have kings or bigger than used to).

I vaguely remeber that although we use the same names as the US we have smaller sizes - not at all confusing, the Europeans are different again like Ikea with their metric sizes so standard matresses don't fit?

We have a very nice chunky pine king which will last forever - which is unfortunate as really I would like to swap it for a black bed to match the decor of our bedroom but (as you may know) I am not the type to get rid of a perfectly god bed just because it doesn't 'match'. However if we do ever get a new one I wouldn't say no to a six foot superking, all that space is somehow a luxury.

You could paint it black. Maybe staining it dark grey might look better though?

We have one. The down-side is that it's not very matey. If we were choosing again, I think we'd go for 5'.

We have separate duvets. Again not very matey, but we sleep much better. And I get the double duvet, whilst DW gets the single!
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Well there goes a morning I'll never get back. Decided to turn my attentions to "the family site" - registered a domain some time ago and intended to put up family trees, photos, anecdotes etc. To date all I'd found was a confusing set of tree makers I could use .... and so had set the whole project aside. This morning I decided to have another crack at it and used a plugin I've found (you can only really tell what's good/not once you've done the work and used it). That was OK ... doesn't produce an actual "tree", but I figure I'll use a separate plugin to produce an actual tree.... and then I decided to upload some images using an image gallery that says it's the most widely used/longest-used one with great features.

.... no images showing, thumbs not creating, been faffing with FTP/chmod permissions and getting nowhere. Posted on support board.

    Why doesn't stuff "just work"?

    :)

Theoretically, once it's all working, there's another plugin so I can give a login to any/all/discovered family members and they can upload their own photos. It also has tagging and the ability to build photo sets on the fly using tags.

Oh to be wealthy enough to just pay for stuff that works :)

(It's OK, PN, it's only a cyber-hug, so not invading your space. ;))
LIR's greeting to me last week was "Hi - it's OK, I'm not going to hug you"
    :)
Great, I'd already tensed up with fear and confusion :)

We have contemplated that, the skirtings/architraves are black stained pine so it should match OK, the currnt finish is waxed pine, not sure how to prepare that for staining? Plus I suspect it would quickly get chipped/rubbed off by the DKs so might start to look a bit tatty fairly quickly?
    I think....
