Anyone watch "16 kids and counting"?

I still can't fathom why anyone would have so, so many.

Nor can I, three is enough!
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

I have just started watching. Kids seem nice and healthy, and they all look loving, but I couldn't live in a house that you have to live like a sardine. Just looking at the Sullivans now, papers on the cooker - yeah that's safe.

Alive parent's birthday and the present was wrong, the greeting was wrong and she is totally miserable. Not much I can do right really :(

Maybe it wasn't to do with the gift or card but the loss of him but the emotions then got all mixed up?

lostinrates Like many vets, the horse vets send a sympathy card to 'pet' horse owners.. Shockingly they have sent a card that looked passably like her. It's set me off weeping again.

oh poor you........I can't think of anything upbeat to say.

I told dh there was a show about people who had these huge numbers of kids and he asked the same question and I said perhaps its the same reason most of us who are broken to various degrees do something...these couples have a personal void to fil....that set dh of giggling for hours making very uncharacteristically rude comments about how the void was probably not getting any smaller.

I'm doing ok. I'm not taking calls and only really want to speak to dh but have spoken to lol my clients via email and am in touch here. I just don't want to actually talk about any emotions iykwim. I dread someone saying something about her to me in person. I just want to let every one get used to it and then carry on as 'normal'. Dh has seen two of my clients who were both in tears (as was he) but gets that I have to be different, to get through things. I don't mind crying with him, even with the vet was ok. But not with my family and clients. Thankfully resident parent is away and the other one dh has called to ask them to stop calling and give me some space. :o

I am a bit of a bxtxh and prefer to do this sort of thing with a harder face to the outside, and very, very few people aren't ' outside' .here it's ok, I don't have to talk, you gets cannot see me. Weird huh?

Nah, sounds completely understandable. If you feel/ know thats the best way for you to carry on functioning, I'd say go for it. It would be really unhealthy to keep all of the emotion in, but it doesn't sound like you're doing that (just sharing with select people).

We're all here if you want to 'talk' or just chat about nonsense :)

No not at all weird, and you're not a b*tch either. It's just your way of handling things. None of us are here to judge and there are probably a fair few of us who would do the same in the situation anyway.

Definitely. But I can't put that right.

What is the border line between being depressed and depression?

and is not eating a sympton of grief or can it turn into anorexia?

Not eating can be a symptom of grief, and is also called anorexia. Anorexia the eating disorder can be triggered too. In any case, I would say if some one older is feeling prolonged loss of appetite and feeling 'depressed' of any sort it merits some looking into.
