    RIP Special girl.

I cannot believe it. So quick, so shocking. Part of my soul has gone with her.

Oh LIR! I'm so sorry for you. Is DH there with you still?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Oh lostinrates, I am so sorry to hear that. DD is very sad for you too. She says to tell you she is particularly feeling for you because she too is grieving for an animal at the moment. We all have such fond memories of your horses. :(
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

Thank her please, I know she knows how it feels, far better than she should the dear thing. Both of us are lucky to have had these furry people in our lives though.

Dear LiR I am so sorry to read your news of Special Girl.

I hope it is some comfort that you and your husband were with her when it was time and can know you had done such a good job of getting her through the worst of winter.

My love to you and FiR.

B*gger... this is not good news.

I don't have a pressure cooker and I'm guessing that my sponges would disintegrate anyway.

So this raises the question - what is the best cleaning routine then? Or should I only use paper plates and disposable cutlery?

I use Chux (J cloths) that I use for a day and which get washed about once a fortnight or so. I also use a plastic brush on a stick thing that goes through the dishwasher once or twice a week. My tea towels last a day, occasionally 2.

The dishwasher is great because you can use hotter water than your hands can stand.
