I was suggesting he hire car from airport to drop off in local town tomorrow should be about 40-50 quid and you don't have to leave home and he doesn't have to muck about with trains. You can sort it on internet for reduced price while he is in air.
Oh, I hadn't thought of that. That's a brilliant idea.
Hmmm. I think he'd get lost on the way home though. tbh I think I would go insane with worry him driving home so late. Seriously, never teach a spouse to drive if you are a bit of a control freak.

Not a chance now.
Flight delayed for where it is because of mist in London apparently..
Will mist get better in an hour at night I wonder? If it does it will be too late anyway, so he'll have to stay in Town.0 -

I have had one for years which I wore a lot during the British winter. If you wear it with the wooly liner you will never be cold.
I've not worn it over here but generally the rain is warm so it doesn't bother me to get wet.0 -

Sadly it is not likely to clear during night unless wind picks up. Poor visibility means more separation so fewer landings per hour so flight will probably go tonight just late.PasturesNew wrote: »This is one for scientists... but my guess is no. Either. She says she wants to make one up. I am trying to encourage her to do as much as possible of it herself.PasturesNew wrote: »This is one for scientists... but my guess is no. Mist has a weight to it that doesn't shift without a wind... so once decended it'll hang around for ages.

Not a bit of science that I know much about, I'm afraid. I didn't take the option in atmospheric physics, so I don't get much beyond coastal breezes being towards the land during the day and out to sea at night.
lir - has fir got a satnav app on his phone that could stop him getting lost with a hire car, or could he hire one with a satnav installed?
The NP may like to know that DS's hair has finally got back to the point where he felt it was too long and wanted it cut again. I did it with the clippers and managed not to get on an accidentally too short setting, and he is happy with the result. Both of us were rather nervous about it while I was doing it, though. (Why isn't there a mopping brow "phew" sort of smiley??)Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

You'd need to have your license on you for that I think. Hmmm- an't think when I last saw mine. Getting worried, now that I'm thinking about it.....
Well, it's not happening any way. I don't know whether he has or not, or when he is getting back, but it's too late after a long day/and difficult if short week for him to drive alone with out me worrying to death. I don't know whether he has his passport on him or not. I suspect he has the card but not the paper bit.
I do think Michaels is very, very good though, it's a great solution.
(I can feel my head swelling now in frustration, so off to take my pills.)0 -
