I'd never even heard of these, but they look like the sort of thing proper country folk wear to go and attend to the horses at 3 in the morning when it's bucketing down. Do you have the bona fide hat to go with it?
For the city folk, here's a preview:No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
I sold a Wax Drovers coat last year on Ebay, very similar to the one you pictured, to a Gent from Braemar in Scotland and it was a beauty, very durable and warmly lined. The weather there can be very wet and the need for one of these is standard.:)
I had not worn it for some time being down here in Southern England where the need is not so great. The one that I had was made by a company in Pitlochry Scotland.0 -
I have two drizabone a, a winter weight and a summer weight. ( most people just have the heavier ones, not sure they even make two weights in modern times!) Haven't seen the winter one for years.....I hope I still have it.
I do wear a waxed hat occasionally, but not a branded one. I don't like wearing waxed hat, so only do when it's too wet for an alternative and I have to be country smart.
Edit....oh, and fwiw, I wear a washable fleece lined jacket most of the time, and especially at three am in the barn...more practical, warmer, easier to deal with any stink. Usually with fleece pjs or track suit trousers and hideously bright gloves.0 -

But I wore the socks I prefer to wear with the creaky bra so I feel a bit all at odds with my self. PN looked very smart.....I wore the drizabone with a hole in it that looks as if I sleep in it on a park bench.
The thought of socks to match your bra I find strange. Surely socks need to match your shoes?I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I've tried them at home, and they are really cool but I hear noises.
Are the noises in my head or can other people heart them?
Not sure they are meant to make you feel "cool", excited/ flustered/ hot is the aim surely?
Is there any risk of them falling out?I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Thank you. But you could have emailed me or even rung my mobile if you were worried. You are a real person whom I have met several times so you don't need to adhere to levels of unstalkerishness appropriate for those who are merely pixels.lostinrates wrote: »Heating...they called a solicitor first. Which gives us permission to do what dh does rather well:o.
Doozer boy was worried this would be stressful for me, but I had to admit I am am quite scrappy and when you can so easily 'win' its almost not sporting....but so be it.
Tee hee hee. Do they know what they are up against? I don't think you should worry about considerations of sportingness. I think foundinrates should throw the book at them, if only because otherwise they may mete out the same despicable treatment to other rural dwellers who are less able to fight back.PasturesNew wrote: »Got the telly working, bizarrely by using the TV remote (which I never touch and it's at the back of the table)... but it's only got radio... gonna press some buttons and see if I can get the setup menu up
Edit: GOT IT!!
Excellent news. Enjoy this evening's viewing.
I have got to go out and buy black paint for some homework project of DS's. We tried Sainsbury's yesterday and got the PVA glue that has to be mixed with the paint, but no paint. Tesco is known to stock kids' paint, so I'll go there. Just hope they have some of the black in stock.
Meanwhile, we have got to improvise some kind of superhero costume for DD to wear to school on red nose day. What is it with these primary school teachers that they feel they have a licence to inflict this kind of suffering on parents? We secondary teachers don't do that - or at least I never have and never will.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

Ok, next time I will..

Then of course is the fact we record an alarming number of conversations. I know this sounds mad to many people, but it's been relevant to us in the past and old habits die hard. These are something we almost never refer to...for example, we don't sweat the small stuff, ever....not with people who do work for us nor with each other (and how useful it would be sometimes to say....look.....look what the tape says....) but in such circumstances they are extremely useful, and parent and I have been transcribing a few of the conversations:cool:

Urgh. Is it meant to be 'real' superheroes or made up ones?0
