lir, I have never handwashed a bra ( that probably answers, though not necessarily, the question of my gender) and the wiring has never squeaked afterwards. What on earth did you do to it!

On the subject of DIY, I decorated a boxroom at Christmas and instead of using wallpaper all the way round, used fabric to cover one wall. It's used as an office and the fabric is a black and white representation of the London skyline, and if I say so myself, rather fabulous! I did wallpaper and paint myself, patched some plaster, but would definitely draw the line at plastering a wall!

Wow, I love fabric lined walls......it's a dream of mine for our drawing room. I saw some amazing Finnish black at white town scape fabric used as a lampshade recently, some bits were picked out in shocking pink....not sure if that was the fabric or the designer dabbling, and the inside of the shade was painted bright, bright yellow. It looked brilliant.

I washed the bra at forty on a coloured wash. :o

If you look round the back, you'll find there is a cable with a plug on. That sort of wire. In fact loads of them inside. Otherwise, it wouldn't go globbeda-globbeda. ;)

It would be like asking a Concert Pianist to play off key:(

Hmm, I think more like asking someone well versed in the traditional classics to play a new and avant garde piece, perhaps?

Oh, I never look around the back. Not until some one is in to do something with it and I realise how much filth there is behind there. :o

Question for the nice women. I usually hand wash my bras, but recently stuck one through the machine, And now the wires (?) are creaking! Is there any way to rectify this? It's alarmingly loud.....like magnified squeaking of eating haloumi or overcooked turkey....or creaking floorboards..

I always machine wash mine and always have, life's too short for handwashing and for that, well I have a handwashing programme. The only time I've ever had a squeaky one it was washed at the wrong temperature. Does the underwiring still fit properly? If they've twisted you may be able to flatten them back again.
