I can throw a ball on a rope quite well, but without the rope, I'm afraid I throw like a girl.0

Somebody at work used to live round this way and told me the way they used to make the journey... thing was, it's not an area that has good (or any) signage ... and I didn't really know the route she was speaking of... and I was trying to do it in reverse.
So ... I visited the same dead-end pier road, twice .... and the same 100 yard stretch of the same town 3x ...
Maybe if you try.it the right way round over the weekend before attempting to/ from work? I am definitely going to have to have a trial drive to work when I have.moved. At the moment my commute is walking downstairs, and before that.it was flinging on whatever clothes were.lying on the floor and then sitting on the tube for at least an hour. I think it will be about 10 miles each way, in my own little car0 -
My parents never celebrated their anniversaries. Dad'd make a lot of effort to get mum a great card, mum'd get him the first one she saw.... and over the years he'd buy her a present at least until the 20th or so ... she never bought him anything and she was careless/offhand about what he'd bought her.
Come their 50th I wanted them to at least go out for a cup of tea and a scone, siblings weren't interested in making any effort, I said I'd take them out to a small/quiet garden, just so they'd been out ... and a few days before mum came and said to me "I don't want to go anywhere with him... so don't arrange anything". And that was their last one......0 -

In-laws want to invite my mother to their 50th, she won't go. My parents reached 49.5 so its a bit difficult.

How long is it taking you to complete this 10 mile journey in normal traffic?0 -
I've been going through a will drawn up for my mother.
I wonder if solicitors have heard of a concept called "English"? Even better, something called "plain English".
Alas, no, they would rather write it in the style of Shakespeare after he has been out on the razz all evening.0 -

English legalese is reasonably straightforward compared to some countries.
Dh spends a lot of time putting this in good plain but grammatically correct English. Legalese seems to some to get around the grammar issue.0
