Lol....I'm not a usual girl. I only want a handbag when my current one is dead (my current one is actually starting to die now but I am particular with my handbags and I don't mean brand or cost, just how big and how many pockets!)

Jewelry is pah, I can take it or leave it...I rarely wear any anyway as it became a safety hazard when the boys were younger and more prone to stress outs/rages, I was strangled one too many times by my necklace or almost had my ear lobes ripped to pieces by ear rings to really want them now.

In our family it usually goes like this

Mum "What do you want for Christmas?"
Me " Books but not the full price ones as it is a waste of money"
Mum "Oh that is too much hassle, anything else?"
Me " Money so I can buy the books myself"
Mum "But you won't spend it on books, you will spend it on the boys"
Me "And? Still be a help won't it? Ok, how about 'insert household item'?"
Mum " But that is hardly a treat"

She relented last year and gave me money and a kettle. I purchased one cheap book, treated the boys to a (cheap) takeaway and I am still enjoying my kettle.

I think a great present can be something practical but of far higher quality (& price) than one could justify ordinarily.

"what do you want for christmas" starts in about september. what i always want is more work shirts and ties. "NO THAT'S BORRRRRRRRINGG" is always the reply. "fine get me whatever YOU want then"... grumpy stare. conversation repeats twice a week until she gets me some shirts and ties.

when i ask her what she wants i just get "girls are easy to buy for just me a handbag or jewelry" "but you have at least 10 handbags and you never use 9 of them, and never wear any of your jewelry" "fine get me whatever YOU want" conversation repeats twice a week until i buy her a handbag and some jewelry.

Handbags I can leave, jewelry is a different matter.

OH once commented that I was "Tiffanyed out". Terrible grammar, is if "To Tiffany" is a verb that can have a past tense. Grr!

Not sure how much quality you can get for circa £20 (the amount we are allowed for Christmas from my parents)
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

True. I squealed with joy at my Joseph Joseph utensils. Best present last year, partly because i really wanted but hadn't asked. My sil is great, she always gets me posh things I can't justify on myself :)

I'm sitting at work waiting whilst someone installs Access on my PC. The office stinks of lunchtime fake packet powdery chicken stock. Can't stand it!

I'm not sure that putting fillings in your liver will help.

i'm more worried about the teeth. that red bull nonsense coats them in something that you can't brush off and slowly dissolves them, in my unscientific opinion.

my liver is fine apparently, BUPA tested that. they also said that i had 107% of normal lung capacity - still some way to go until i am a professional road cyclist though.

they also said i was too fat and should stop smoking. pr!cks.

Haha, I was looking at doing that today, but it's not that simple, tea
Ly. E.g. I have no printing facility good enough here, so would have to pay for it to be printed ( twice, cos you know first one will go wrong!)

The hands and workings seem cheap enough though. ( the kits, looking at them earlier, the hands would be too short for a really big clock, but there are some nice hands about cheaply) I did think, if you did it your self you could put a small light behind it so it glowed too. :rotfl:
By the time I have fluffed about, it makes more sense to buy.

And...while I could put numbers on, would it me like making graffitti on the real moon and an act of total vandalism?

Could you hack a Habitat VIP moon light? There might be some of them on ebay, plus a clock mechanism. A proper heavy 3D moon that told the time would be great. I love the VIP one. You
Might have to look on ebay for one of those!

everything that OH gets is from tiffany's these days.

this is because there is a tiffany's approximately 60 seconds away from where i am currently sitting.

Not enough room between truss and chimney breast for something significantly 3 d doozer.

Btw, I know he is missing you. He keeps slipping up on the phone, Told the plumber 'love you' when he hung up the other day, out of habit and longing I think. :)

I like the idea of jewellery but am way too fussy for gifts. I love my wedding ring and have some loose stones for dh to take back to that jeweller one day, but other stuff, I like to choose. I hate 'brand' sort of things. A Tiffany heart for example would be not for me. Smething that happened to be from tiffany's otoh, fine.

My father did not buy my mother one piece of jewellery while they were married properly. I think that's sad really. It was because HE did not see the point of it, so her wants were not valid.

You don't need to move, they are online too!

There are occasions when I won't wear my too obviously T&Co stuff and prefer to where the stuff that only those that know, know.
