Local agent who valued ours said '9 offers, probate, best and final offers in 48 hours and us not on the market' = forget about it.
I will speak to the planners on Wednesday but I'm not going to offer any more. Two agents we had to ours, 1 said sell for 600 as is now or 625-650 if all done up, other said ask 675 in current condition and hope to get at least 650....I think....0 -
we went for our anniversary dinner and a peanut butter fondant with banana parfait cheered me right up!

I have always gone for convertibles when at all possible. QUOTE]
My appetite for a convertibe is sated by still having the MG Midget Mr S bought for me for my birthday the first year we were married. I have had it 29 years this year.
It was my only car for a number of years including up until my DD was over 3 years old.
At 8 months pregnant it was a real job to get in and out of it - it involved a sort of rolling action.
Having my baby in a car seat in it and taking her too and from the childminders in it was a sight to behold . The winter was terrible as the roof was up and the space made more cramped for manouvering her in and out and by having a changing/feed bag crammed in as well. We had to leave teh pushchair at teh childminders until Mr S could fetch it as it did nt fit in the boot. His car was a co car so we could not swap.
When she was 3 I got a lovely new Peugeot 205. Sold to me entirely on the strength of "you take my breath away" ...fitting my child in comfortably and safely was a bonus.
This year we are mulling over putting the MG on the road for DD to drive as she is young and flexible so could have fun with it, however we would also like to insure my car (bmw) for her to drive as sometimes when I am ill I get stuck places and it would be good for her to be able to accompany my OH to collect me and the car. We are having MSE thoughts though so not sure about the cumulative expense.0 -
Do you feel the MG is safe enough in the event of an accident (and however sensible she is can't prevent the other driver from making a mistake) for your DD?
(Sorry to be a kill-joy but as you now know I think about best before dates at the most unlikely of moments)I think....0 -
Don't keep us in suspense, what did agent say re your offer?
Nowt!
Offers were being passed onto vendors at close of play today, might hear back tomorrow.
There were a couple of offers already in when I viewed, and house hasn't been on market for long so not getting my hopes up (I offered under asking price).
House needs everything doing to it (generally looks ok structurally, but no central heating, needs new kitchen, downstairs bathroom, would probably put an upstairs bathroom in, prob needs re-wiring (def needs more sockets) and would eventually want something doing with the windows). I think it is a bit much for a first buy tbh, but I didn't let that stop me putting an offer in
Edit: I can picture what I would want to do though, and have managed to find pics of other houses on the street to see what others have done - which aren't so different to my ideas.0
