Bertie, I am not clear from you post about the foot chewing and tasha, is she doing it from stress? It's a common way for dogs to behave when they are stressed or pained, excessive foot chewing or cleaning. Are you saying this promoted the vet visit? Be interesting to see now if hat behaviour lessens.
My girls are now, finally, both in season, ( only two and a half months late!) and the kiwi can tell its exciting but is not sure why. However, no risks are worth it, and it all becomes stress fil for them so he is going on holiday for a while. I can hardly bear it.0 -
I went to see another house tonight. I'm thinking of putting an offer in. Its not very likely to be accepted
But worth a punt I figure. Went on sale last week, and they've had a couple of offers already. Probably a family selling it on behalf of a parent, and they are apparently going to review all the offers on Monday. If I do offer, I'll be explaining how I have come to my figure, and why my position makes me a fantastic buyer etc.
It's a little terrace on a narrow street that is used as a bit of a throughway. Needs quite a lot of work doing, but the mortgage repayments would be pretty small and whilst its probably not a longer term home I can see living there for a bit, then renting it out or perhaps selling it on again working.
On the basis of the 2 houses I have looked at, there seems to be a fair bit of interest at the moment (although I am only looking at keenly priced places). I wish everyone else would stop looking!0 -

Tasha has for quite some time chewed the lower part of her left leg to a point that it looks very red indeed, we mentioned it to the vet on our last visit and he said that it could very well date from when she was a puppy and first entered a Rescue Centre.
There certainly is no stress in our home at all it it always very quiet a peacefull maybe too quiet for her but she gets plenty of walks during the daytime.
The main reason for taking her to the vet was that we thought that she may have muscular problems with her getting a little wobbly at times, she is thirteen years old.
We will certainly keep you posted as to her progress lir.
Kiwi will be wondering what is going on with the girls at the moment but in time the secrets will be revealed.;)0 -

Stress isn't necessarily about your home, which is clearly very loving. It's more likely to be about her well being, physical or 'emotional'. Just like loving parents have children who sometimes have comfort blankets or thumb suck longer than they would like....it's emotional security...not necessary a stressful home iykwim.
It's a useful symptom to understand because is often the first thing that is clearly seen by you (as they cannot say, hey Bertie...I feel down, or my back hurts more than normal). Normal body language can be harder as they get aches and older too.
If you think she might be under stimulated (boredom is a stress too) then it's much harder with an older gal, as you know.....she cannot do as much as she did. Perhaps her bed could be somewhere where she has a view of more happening (there is a very old collie in the next village who spends every dry day in the front garden watching the world go by and makes me laugh, he is such a clerk of works). Or a suitable chewing diversion? A fresh bone for a code of hours a day.....so it breaks up the day for her?
Your love for her is very apparent.
Era: kiwi will never know....they are both being spayed ASAP. I wanted them done in autumn but because of dog dogs broken leg we felt we could not put her through another surgery so soon. And big dog was ill on the day of her surgery, so could not go. I prefer them done in autumn winter, but big dog is too old to leave any longer, and dog dog is definitely not going to have any puppies now, so I want it done soon.
If kiwi is not ring -worthy he will be done too.0 -

This century registration. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

I'd have no use for a CD player, I've no CDs.0

I've had a CD player in my cars since they were first brought out....my first one was worth 3 times the value of the car!

I have a fairly large number of CDs, most of which have been living at my parents' for ages (there is not much space when you are sharing a studio flat! nor much point in lugging them about when you are moving every year). I picked up about 20 when I was last back, and am now treating myself to an 'album of the week' for my drive to and from work. Makes me0 -
