We should be fine here but spare a thought for the many Aussies that are going to lose most or all of their possessions tonight and tomorrow.0

Living where there are regular weather disasters is really no fun. I would avoid it in the future given a choice. Last year was be with flooding, but on a comparative scale it's easy to see this island is luckily placed.0 -

My wish list for next car would include:
The right size and easily divisible for dog separation.
Black
Heated seats (not upholstered)
Heating
Good CD player (but dh wants MP3 player)
Excellent radio (I would choose radio over CDs if I had to choose)
I would like built in sat nav and cruise control, but when I have the cruise control I rarely use it.......but when it's a quiet road I quiet like the feeling of turning it on and feeling the car join in.
.
My only requirement is divisible for dog seperation - hence I gave up and bought an ex Post Office van. They trash it, then I buy another one - it's absolutely pointless having a decent vehicle:o.
Fingers crossed and positive thoughts for Friday michaels. I went to a convent grammar school, I suspect that was the final nail in the coffin of belief - some of those nuns were seriously scary!0 -

See if your ancestors benefitted from slave ownership.
Keyed in my family name/s. No results.
All clear here.
I also keyed in my grandparents surname and it came up with loads of records, then I realised that it had found names that contained their really short name. I would quite like a car that did it all, like night riders car or the bat mobile, so I could just sit in it and read a book or something, but I think that's called a taxi in reality.
Black cars show the dirt.
My list would be:
air conditioning
power steering
built in sat nav
reversing camera
decent radio

I am contemplating doing one of those postal intolerance tests. Not sure how good they really are though.
I have friends that have done them; they are rubbish, you may as well throw a dice.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Ok, thanks. That's £250 saved. I'll just to it with diet unless it gets more serious then.
I am not naturally 'faddy' so it just seems a bit uncharacteristically to both be going off foods I like and also be showing lots of 'into.erance' symptoms all the time.....0 -

Oh yes, air conditioning. I love air con. This car has air con, but it doesn't work .
I don't like reversing cameras. I do quite like the idea of those cars that park themselves but I bet they refuse to squeeze in to the tiny spots.
I don't mind that black cars show the dirt. After a bout five minutes out here it is merely a good dark base for their camo get up:D and they look smart when clean. I have always liked black cars best I think, but only owned one black car.0 -

!
That's brilliant!
My dogs are reasonably tidy in the car.....they don't chew or damage in any case. Dog dog and kiwi can travel together, and they do, but big dog needs to travel alone. ATM she gets the boot and they get the back seat. It means we have space for picking people up at train stations too, etc.
I should add to my list robust enough for out here and swift enough to make my planned but not yet happening trips to visit dh realistic. Dh wants to stay four by four, seems sensible with the dogs etc.0 -
Mine are pretty well-behaved, none of them are at the chewing stage, but a few of them moult heavily. It does have seats in the middle as well ( my postie tells me it must have been used up in the Highlands, where they often pick up people as well as post!).
My pet hate is sat nav, I'm convinced it rots the brain. Then again I learnt to read via maps, so I'm partial to an A to Z and getting out of the car/van to ask people for directions.0
