Haven't begun to think yet how people pay for Master's dgrees now they're becoming more and more routine.
Miss Spirit is doing her MA part time, lives at home and is paying her own tuition - so no living expenses but has to save up for her fees.
She has worked part time throughout her degree and gap year in an admin job and had intended to do that through to the end of her MA however she has just applied for and got a graduate level job. She has negotiated a 30 hour week so she can complete her MA.
I was a bit apprehensive as her ethos up until now was "student with a job" now it is "Has a job and studying".0 -

Perhaps I shouldn't complain about the darkness. My journey home involves going through 2 long tunnels as the train cuts across the peak district. You're in the dark in those tunnels anyway.
The longer is 6,230 yards. Impressive, when you think how old it is.
I'd never consider swapping that train journey for the car equivalent over one of the passes ... in winter? forget it0 -
Cannot make bid, have dh on phone telling be to buy but I said I cannot, too much money.0

I managed to get a bursary which covered the fees for my MSc. I worked part time in the hall of residence I lived in. I think a couple of people on the course were fully funded (fees + stipend for living costs), about 5/ 6 of us had our fees covered, and everyone else had to pay for everything themselves. I think a few people lived at home, but most didn't.0 -
