I'm worried I'm going to miss Look After Your Elbows Weekend or something.
I think you already did - isn't that the first week of January, in the sales?

What annoys me is I have a parent's birthday this month. It has always been a nuisance to find something they want for Xmas (so you get them everything as they don't want much), repeat for their birthday a few weeks later .... repeat for Mother's Day (10 March this year) a few weeks later, repeat for Easter a few weeks later.... then nothing for 8 months!!

I don't want to come over all eco-warrior but I was shocked to hear about the horsemeat food being destroyed.

Seeing as how my dog has apparently the same carbon footprint as a VW Golf I hope that when they said destroyed they really meant recycled for animals to eat otherwise our hungry-mouthed pets will eat our planet to a climate disaster.

I quite liked them, however we've eaten a burger/chips and saveloy/chips, and they were disgusting. See tweet, as I haven't been straight home, so I have manipulated the times a little :)

Welcome to the thread Almo...my bio is a couple of pages back.

Re gay marriage, I don't really mind either way as long as I can get married in church again as a divorced person, until that day, I won't be remarrying as I cannot reconcile my beliefs and a registry office ceremony...the two just don't go together for me (it's ok for others, just not for me)

Oh, I have one cat who has been chipped (and has excellent insurance!)

Sue, do you want said church wedding to be Roman Catholic, C of E, some other denomination, or don't mind as long as it's in a church? Arrangements for remarriage of divorcees in church vary a lot between denominations, and it may not be the impossibility that you think it would be.

    PS Avatar-dog was chipped.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

    Yes!
I failed it catastrophically but a combination of death threats, drugs and downright dishonest references soon helped me secure a precarious privileged toehold in this calmest of waters in the Niagara Falls that is the MSE forum.

Geographically we (the British Isles branch of the Nice People)are currently limited to England and Scotland and are happy to accept members from both countries but are looking to expand into Wales and NI. In other words, wherever you're from , you are very welcome.

Morning NP, and I have an interesting fact this morning, that I think requires some intervention by the NP. Please excuse my spelling, as I'm on iPhone at the moment, as I'm out with girls for breakfast, then taking them to the zoo. (Will tell you where when I get home), whilst OH is cash and carrying.

'Ukrainian is not based on Russian. It is a language that evolved from the one spoken in Kievan Rus, which has its roots in modern day Bulgaria.'

I honestly didn't know this, despite having lived in Georgia for 9 years, Russia for 4.5 years and Ukraine for a stint of about 18 months, in my younger years working for a TV channel.

    Any thoughts here?
