Please take some tablets, they will make you feel so much better.
I've noticed that the supermarkets now sell value range of paracetamol, aspirin & ibuprofen. Works out in the range 1p a tablet, so no excuse not to have in stock.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. On the news Gatwick airport were talking about the investment they had made in runway clearing equipment, so hopefully you will be ok.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Housework is not my daughters strong point and I am getting fed up with her 'stuff' just lying around. Actually that is an understatement she is a star turn at just not doing it and accumulating detritus - It makes me aggressive and I want to say and do vile things:(
I bet you she is not as bad as mine in that regard.Does yours persistently get ketchup and cucumber ends on the carpet? I have been reduced to banning mine from certain rooms until she can improve a bit.

But then our road (which a few people know is easily avoidable to all but two users and just at one end does it HaVE to be used) had snow ploughs this afternoon. Bizarro.
Gritting around here also v sparse in a few places and non-existent everywhere else, as far as I could tell. Am v glad have not got to drive anywhere tomorrow.
Pastures, please take care of yourself. Stay warm, and stay in bed if you can. Wish some of us could come round and look after you.
Spirit, I want to cuddle your dog.Your snowy garden is nice too, but I'm afraid it's the dog pic that struck me most.
Reason for posting so late in the evening...

Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
I'm feeling left out...
I've got no snow
Maybe if I don't look until tomorrow there will be snow :A0 -

The best snow I ever had was around 1997-1998
I was late shift and woke to a good 2 feet (24 inches) of snow in my drive.
So i dug the car out, which was hard work.
When I went to work there wasn't another car on the road..
Anyway, I got home and when I woke in the morning, there was 24" of snow in my drive again!
Why did I park at the top of my drive grrrr!?!?
Anyway, I had to dig it out again and it didn't snow again.
Love snow and will never forget that time0 -
Is that nabs?
DD has just sat hers...
What is/are nabs? Google suggests "nabs" in an educational context refers to something Scottish. Are you in Scotland? I'm not, I'm afraid.
Ours were just our usual mock papers - mostly last summer's GCSE paper with a few questions changed to remove the topics we haven't taught yet and make up the marks with other questions on topics that we have taught but didn't get much coverage in last summer's paper.
I had a 2-hour paper and a 1-hour paper to mark for each kid in my Yr11 set, which isn't really that big of a deal - not as bad as the summer when we can have loads of sets in Yr7-Yr10 all doing exams at once and all needing marking within a few days. But I've been putting it off since earlier in the week (when they did paper 1) because I couldn't face it when my eyes were streaming from this cold I've caught. So when I collected my pile of paper 2 scripts today I thought I'd better get on with it, since I've moved on to the bunged up stage of the cold and can now see comfortably. So the thought that they're all out of the way and I haven't got to do any of them over the weekend seemed worthy of a small celebration - although the extent of my smilie-exhuberance was a feature of posting within a few minutes of getting to the end of the job.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Worlds most pathetic school?
DDs school opened at 9 and sent out we are closing texts at 9.45. It was just starting to snow at 9 and continuing to snow at 9.45, exactly as forecast. What was the point in that?!
My two spent this afternoon in the bar, as I couldn't get out the office to get them, and OH was working on her own, so couldn't bring them up.
DD2's school didn't open this morning, as they knew there was going to be snow, and DD1's school closed at 12 (which was quite lucky, as OH opens at 2).
I'd have left them at home for a few hours if it was afternoon, but not for the whole day.
Spirit, did Mr S get home OK?
