They said it had to be a new one as Id driven on it. I'd had a full set just 18 months ago, so probably only done 6,000 miles or so.

I was also ill/close to collapsing.... I just wanted it doing, so I could drive home before I collapsed (head was spinning). I saw the nail in it.

That is certainly a questionable comment the garage gave you, it depends how far you travelled with the tyre flat or low on air to cause so much damage as to warrant a new one. Was it the garage that supplied the full set?

I can understand that you were in no condition to even comment on their findings but... taking advantage of you, I certainly hope not. Get well soon.;)

I've spent the last X hours drifting in and out of consciousness with a fever, unable to even move an arm when I was awake.... I've got Lemsip but don't feel safe boiling the kettle at the moment. At least now I can sit up and type, so not worried about lying delirious for days :(

    Paracetemol + Ibuprofen

    Any coughing (yet)?

DS has spent the day vomiting, something for the rest of us to look forward to?
    I think....

Oh on, sounds like a horrid, horrid flu. Have you got food in? Can you order a supermarket delivery (I know, posh alert but ...maybe you deserve one? ) chicken soup?

pastures - you do need a bit of TLC. I the absence of NP to minister to you you are going to need to take the good advice and act on it.

    Well, would you be
I've I found put today another person I have chatted to for a long time on MSE is in the same industry as silvercar's dh. How odd is that? Anyway...she is obviously in a different area of the industry because she has been able to recommend a course for me!

Got back from Leeds about an hour ago. No posh alerts for us, as there were a few of us we were told to drive. Good job one of the group is a confident snow driver otherwise I think we would still be crawling down the M1 or have given up and stayed in a luxurious service station hotel.

There had been quite a few accidents. Made me really appreciate people who drive gritters, the police, ambulance, fire services and people like the aa (even if they are not always great). I would not fancy driving around in weather like this as part of my job.

I did venture out today having checked the priority gritting routes online, and was amazed to find they did not seem to have been gritted (I think they had but incredibly lightly). I actually passed a gritter and it was spreading but hardly anything was coming out.

But then our road (which a few people know is easily avoidable to all but two users and just at one end does it HaVE to be used) had snow ploughs this afternoon. Bizarro.

Well, they certainly don't get it 'right' all the time, but having passed a few on the motorway (which was not a very enjoyable place to be driving), I'm still glad they give it a go!

Hope everyone who has any travelling to do gets to their destinations nice and safely, if a little slower than they were planning.

That's pretty cruel to be stuck out that late and in that weather on a Friday because of work.

Hope they made it worth your while.

    Love this tune...

I'm not sure the words are right for it and the versions are a totally different interpretation but...

    It's my life Talk Talk

    It's my life No Doubt

Think I like the sound on No Doubt better but then, I would :A

Good luck with gatwick chewy. If it is open it will be good news for both of us. Near my house there is excellent sledding and people take snowboards when the weathers right so you could stop by herts instead. Only prpblem is if your. Flight doesnt leave i wont be home to make cocoa. Incidentally, if anyone does plan snowboarding in herts, its all over in about 10 secs then you have to climb up again.
